I've been staring at this picture for a while now.

Griss is the embodiment of one of the better villain archetypes in Fire Emblem. He's the murderous psychopath who basically cackles maniacally whilst bathing in blood. You had Valter in Sacred Stones, you had Metodey in Three Houses (a man who you fight only once without DLC and who threatens to eat your corpse), you have villians who live for the joy of murder. Hell, we have party members in some fire emblem games who are almost amazingly morbid while remaining goofy and bizarre. Henry in Fire Emblem Awakening, Reina and Peri in Fire Emblem Fates, maybe Jeritza in Three Houses. Having party members who range from morbid to actively insane seems like it's just become part of the game.

Engage had Rafal to sort of fill that void, but even Rafal isn't as crazy as Henry or Peri were. I just feel like it's a shame we couldn't recruit Griss. Gregory is far more relatable with his pain intolerance and his sensitivity, but Griss is a gleeful psychopath. And something I want both my sensitive coward and my insane psychopath. I want both on the same team, because they're like opposing sides to my personality.

Griss and Gregory are both wonderful, and I don't want to choose between them. I'd inevitably choose Gregory because I see more of myself in him, but it'd be a hard decision. A really hard one.

"i love her SO much because she is so easy to underestimate if you only look at the surface bits. like yes she’s bossy and prickly and has absolutely zero patience for nonsense and will bite your head off if you annoy her, but that is PART of THE APPEAL!! she’s sharp because she has reasons to be sharp!! she’s in a hurry in this really painful way that makes so much of her click into place once you know more about her, and suddenly all the impatience and drive and refusal to be talked down to gets about ten times more devastating"

I am beyond pleased that Fire Emblem Heroes has now added Metodey, a guy who was in one chapter of the base 3H game and whose only notable character trait was that he might be a cannibal, and yassified him severely.
