Day 1 – Hello AmiguruMay!
It’s that time again. I’m so excited to be joining #Amigurumay for the second year in a row! 🎉 Last year was such a fun challenge and I’m hoping to stay just as committed this time and make it all the way through the month again.
Gonna kick things off with this hungry little pelican I crocheted, complete with a fishy snack in his beak. I can’t wait to share more of my creations with you all throughout May!💙

31/31 amigurumay | Bye bye AmiguruMay...
Wow, it's the end of AmiguruMay. I had no idea how much work it would be posting every day for a month! But I'm so proud of myself for sticking to it. I'll definitely have to scale back on posting next month, to my usual 3 posts a week. But, I'm so excited for what's to come. This world is full of birds, and I've only started crocheting them!

30/31 amigurumay | Your next ami
Are you ready to find out what my next pattern for the month of June will be? Oh, I guess you've already seen the photo... PUFFIN! It's going to be a puffin. Of all the patterns I plan to release this year, this puffin might be my favorite. I know, I say that a lot because I love all birds, but this bird has it all! It has color changing, a bit of embroidery, and colored eyes. I really wanted to push my designs this year to incorporate new techniques and this Puffin has them all!

27/31 amigurumay | Clever detail
A clever little detail I learned to use in my amigurumi is embroidery. While making birds I found out a lot of them have subtle gradation of colors in their feathers, something that's very hard to do while crocheting. You either make one stitch grey, or the next one white, there is no in between. Well, that was until I taught myself how to embroider. Now I can make what looks like the white tipped feathers of an african grey, or the complex feathers of a green-cheek conure, just by embroidering!

25/31 #amigurumay | 3 things about patterns
The last three patterns I followed were Snowball the seal and jellyfish by @natura_crochet and green-cheek conure by @melmadegifts Please ignore the fact that the conure has no eyes. It originally did, but then my two birds got a hold of it and ripped them out. Now, I have to embroider new eyes... *sigh*

To keep organized I like to put all my WIPs in my project bag. I found this bag for sale on Etsy, and I knew right away, I had to get it. You know me, I love birds! Just look at those pelicans! By far one of my best crochet related purchases to date. I'd love to give the seller a shout out, but since purchasing this bag they´ve closed shop.
