Art summary 2025 ^^

After going through my years progress, it appears that when i started my new routine, my art slowed down quite a lot ^^; which saddens me...

But! Hopefully 2026 will be at a higher rate of quantity and quality :>

Hot take. They should have kept Batwin around in the present time instead of forgetting he exists.

Like sure the common headcanon I've seen was he's either dead or out of power but I propose an alternative headcanon.

Batwin is still alive and he did sign a treaty but this version is to make him and his forces fully subservient to the Crown.

Imagine a monster army instead of fighting for fellow monsters are instead a conscript force that is used as fodder by the Mewmans.

I do headcanon based on lore that the avarius while they're still a noble family have lost influence and so Batwin is the official representative of monsters.

I'm just rambling but it would be interesting due to river getting the knights drunk that they call Batwin and force his army to fight Toffee. Toffee is of course pissed seeing monsters forced to fight for Mewmans.

Plus imagine a moment where Star when calling out the hypocrisy of how monsters can't be trusted yet they have a conscripted monster army regularly fighting for them

That's just my thoughts everyone hehe.

I’m personally sticking to the idea that Mewmans are different species from humans in all my works. Partly out of stubbornness, and partly because if the canon wasn’t going to actually do anything with that revelation, why should I acknowledge it in my stuff? At least they kind of did something with the reveal of Festivia being adopted and her line not being the “true” rulers, even if it still ultimately led to nothing significant.

Reimagining mewmans.

I have a few ideas for mythology, different societies on the planet, mewman social norms, and some other stuff. Maybe I’ll get around to finishing it sometime, I’ve had them in my noggin for like a year. 

Text on panels:

“Mewmans have typical human skin tones, but have a tint based on their magic’s color (Cheek color and magic color can be different!).”

“The tint of a mewman’s skin can vary in opacity, to barely visible to extremely visible.”

“As a child, a mewman has very faint cheek marks that grow more visible as their magic strengthens (Royal children, on the other hand, have vibrant cheek marks!) Once they reach maturity, they will go through mewberty, which their magic will peak and they will grow antennae and wings, as well as an extra pair of limbs. As an adult, they can summon and de-summon these appendages as needed. (Only mewmans with exceptionally strong magic can regrow their extra pair of limbs. They appear during mewberty due to a temporary uncontrolled magical peak.) (Mewmans can be any color! This green one is just an example.)”

"At the start of mewberty, a mewman will make a cocoon so their antennae and wings can grow. Once they break out, their mindless state may cause them to seek out someone they love most. (Embarassing, but normal!) Trying to prevent mewberty can stunt growth. Webs and cocoons will dissolve once the process finishes.”

“A Queen is a very unique type of mewman. Exclusive to the royal family, they have the most powerful magic. Their butterfly forms include massive, detailed wings, ommatidia eyes, 6 arms, and their skin is opaque with the color of their magic. They can morph in and out of [this form], like regular mewmans.”

Random SVTFOE Headcanons

Cheek marks are inconsistent because there are different ways to inherit them! You can acquire temporary or permanent ones from magic exposure, or you can be born with them if your mother has them!

Anyone is capable of wandless magic, but it’s easier if you’ve had magic exposure, and borderline impossible without training.

All mewmans go through mewberty. However, female mewberty is much more intense, and the mewberty of a queen is often rather explosive. Additionally, all mewmans have tiny Mewberty wings afterwards. For reference, River’s mewberty mostly involved him following girls around like a weirdo in bug form. (I’m planning an au where Mewmans are more blatantly bug people. Like, imagine if Star’s mewberty wings kept growing and all adult Mewmans had bug wings ALL THE TIME)

Tom went through Mewberty. It was highly traumatic for everyone except Dave, who positively gushed with pride throughout the entire nightmareish experience.

Part of the reason why River grew his beard out so long is because Moon thinks he looks handsome with facial hair.

Toffee honored and admired Eclipsa because his family had been given sanctuary by her. She inadvertently showed him that Mewmans weren’t the problem- instead, he determined, the problem was the magic which had created and enforced the Mewman- Monster power imbalance and was, in his mind, inherently corruptive.

so mewmans are just humans who came into contact with magic right? and so... 

I made her a dragonfly instead of a butterfly, thought it’d be cute :D
