4' x 4' woodblock print on the Ray Trayle etching press! This banner will travel around with Monica Montgomery and the Museum of Impact-- As the Museum hosts pop-ups all around the country, folks will come together to write words on the banner to shine a light on those who Stand Up, Speak Up and Act Up as part of the Upstanders Love Letters project. Skye is a printmaker we met during a workshop in New Mexico when she was an undergraduate student at the Institute of American Indian Arts six years ago. Last month Skye and I crossed paths again, in Portland this time, when I visited Pacific Northwest College of Art. Now, Skye is proofing a portrait Jesus and I created of James Baldwin as part of Watershed a publishing program that students work on.
