Thoughts on Neito Monama from MHA?

Okay, I've seen a LOT of people hate on him, and can kinda see why, but I like his character

When I first saw him in the sports festival, he displayed traits of a very rational and strategic thinker, and was level headed and aware. He (and his team) nearly won the headband event. Idrk why, but I've always admired strategic characters and found them very interesting and fun to watch. And although we start to see a different, more jealous and competitive side of him shortly after, it doesn't take away from how I saw him in the beginning. We get to see his more level headed side when he's asked to work with Eri later in the series

I can see how people find him annoying tho, what with his hatred for Class 1A. But I don't mind it, tis amusing to me. And I mean, it's not like he's a creep, right?

If you're going to tag him and the fandom at least give us something creative to work with. Like convince me why he sucks or something idk. Put some effort in.

I did not tag Dabi precisely because I was not giving a criticism or an analysis on him, so I did not want people who like him to be upset at my post. I tagged the fandom because I like having all my posts tagged with their fandom :)

Mind you, I haven't watched mha in years, so I don't have a well thought out take on why I dislike Dabi, but a rewatch is planned, so I will probably have a concrete answer for you then. God knows I write a lot of posts about characters I dislike *side eyes my endless dazai posts.* In the meantime, I will give you a longer answer than the post, to make up for the time you spent on writing your ask.

So, I did not care for Dabi as a character or as a villain or as a person. His design was really cool, and the writer put a lot of time and care into writing his character, but ultimately it was unnecessary, to me. Can't stress enough how this is a personal subjective opinion.

Now, the Todoroki family already had pretty solid writing, their place in the narrative was very well set. Dabi was just...meh of an addition to it. I understand the how's and why's, I just did not care for it. I would have much rather had that sort of time and attention go to another character (or the sibling of another character) so we wouldn't just feel like the show is "the big three, their stories, and the extras" as Bakugo would say (big 3 beinf ofc bakugo, deku, and shoto.)

Once again, I'm not saying Dabi is a badly written character, or that I hate him because he did x thing or y thing. I simply would have preferred a different character written in his place in the narrative, someone with his own past that's unrelated to the UA students, or at the very least not related to Todoroki.

Would Husband Bakugou defend and protect you? I think he would be very protective over his women.

I think Bakugo would be territorial when young, protective when he’s older. 

Part of it depends on if his S/o is a pro-hero, a normal citizen / quirkless. 

If his S/o is a Pro-Hero:

You’re always on his mind. 

He worries when he hears about large attacks outside of his jurisdiction. What if that’s you? What if today’s the unlucky day? He told you he loved you this morning, right?

It’s not that he doesn’t believe you can do a good job or are a bad hero, it’s just...he has this overwhelming feeling in his chest when he thinks about you being thrown around. 

Every night he comes home and looks at all your bumps and bruises, asking you if feel ok. He just worries, that if he misses something, it will be his fault you get sick and can’t work. 

When that day comes - where you’re both sent to the same active villain attack - and he sees you thrown back against the concrete, something in Bakugo snaps.

To be honest, he doesn’t even remember anything. It takes on of the other side kick's explaining how he nearly nuked the whole battle ground for him to realize what happened. But it was for you, so to him, it’s worth it. 

Because he would do anything for you. Really. Anything. 

If his S/o is a Normal Citizen / quirkless:

Bakugo oddly isn’t as outward as one may think. He isn’t as worried when he knows you’ll be at work or at home, maybe out with friends.

It does stress him out when you aren’t home when he is. There’s lots of wild thoughts in his head, but he tries so hard not let them run wild.

What really gets him though, is when he takes you out to the bar and all these guys (pigs) think they can just... talk to you

Who the fuck do they think they are???

And what’s worse, is you know some of them. They’re friends almost, people you hangout with on nights he’s on patrol, and that stings so badly. Bakugo wants to be here, wants to go out and make you happy and smile, but he’s working.

His insecurity about being home enough, about you falling out of love with him, really takes hold. 

So he holds you close. Like really close. Like hand around your hip, kissing your palm, gross ‘high schoolers who got left alone for too long’ kind of PDA. Because these assholes better get the message about who your man really is.

He also makes the executive decision to buy you a bigger rock. Yeah...that’ll show them!

about izuocha, i think my tone might have been misunderstood, that's on me. i wasn't saying that them ending up together wouldn't make sense, or that it would somehow erase ochaco's bisexuality. whether she dates a boy or a girl she'll always have had a crush on both deku (canonically) and toga (arguably), she's still bi, just wanted to say that more clearly.

my interrogation was about the fact that this izuocha mutual crush just... doesn't really seem to exist anymore? izuku had a little crush on uraraka at the entrance exam because that was the first time a girl talked to him, and then he always acted with her like with a friend and we don't see his thoughts consider her anything more than a friend. uraraka had a crush on deku, seen most notably when she almost crashes her exam because she gets teased about it, but i don't remember a later instance of it being mentioned. and i actually like that this boy and this girl who have or had a mutual crush on each other are friends and nothing more, it's very refreshing. i would have no issue if horikoshi made a flashforward to a few years in the future where they're together, it does make sense for them to be dating eventually, because they're good friends and there's a lot of mutual respect for each other and i can totally see how they could be a couple, no issue here. but maybe there had other mentions of those crush more recently and i just forgot about it. and also let's be real, if in canon ochaco ended up with toga or deku in your preferred mlm deku ship, bnha would be a very different story.

my issue, i guess, is that izuocha fans seem convinced that they're going to confess to each other right now. when they're in the middle of reconstruction and healing, and more specifically, right now in this scene, at a time when ochaco is grieving someone she cared about and wanted to save. those fans think that izuku ran to her when she's crying and hurting, not to comfort her, but to declare his love to her, or vice versa. i think i my problem with this is that i find it very insensitive. i've been reading bnha for years and the deku i know would never do something as inconsiderate as that to someone, let alone a friend that he respects and loves.

Oh no, that's how I understood your ask. That's basically how I view it myself.

I don't see them getting together at this moment, and if they did it would just be... strange. Their (possibly former) mutual crush has been out of the spotlight for long enough that I don't think it'll be relevant in the next chapter.

Can i request Deku x reader with "Stop, you're going too fast."

Where deku saves reader and tries to runaway from villains but he’s running so fast that reader has trouble with breathing so she asks him to stop

(It would be nice if it was deku from 3-4 season Where he wasn’t able to use more than 8-20% of his power)

(Bonus points if reader cant walk bc of injuries)

You'd never realized just how strong Izuku had become, even if he was still finding it challenging to manage his powers. So, of course, it came as a surprise to you when he started sprinting to the exit of the building, his hand tightly locked with yours to avoid getting separated.

Wouldn't want one of the maniacs attacking the building to hurt you.

— Izu, wait! — You tried to say, your chest heaving faster with every passing second. If you had been in better condition, you could have (perhaps) matched his inhuman speed; not with a sprained ankle and a possibly broken fibula.

He could hear you hiss in pain, small tears stinging your eyes as the sensation became unbearable. The thunderous sound of the collapsing building, however, had his concerns placed somewhere else.

— What's wrong? We're close to the exit! — He urged, listening to the way you sharply inhaled and exhaled. Were you having trouble breathing? He'd seen you run mile after mile during training, what was happening to you? It could be the dust from the wrecked walls giving you trouble.

— Stop, you are going too fast! — You yelled, your hand letting go of his as you collapsed on the floor. Izuku turned to check on you, eyes widening at the view; how could he not see you'd been injured the whole time?

He gasped, kneeling beside you to offer assistance. — I'm so sorry! Why didn't you tell me you were hurt? — He cried, trying not to panic as the enemy's footsteps became more audible.

— I just didn't think you'd drag me out like a ragdoll! — You snapped, wincing as Izuku placed his hand over your leg to tie a piece of his shirt around it.

— That should keep it stable. Can you stand? — He asked, watching you shake your head. — Come on, try it for me. I'll give you a ride.

Leaning against a nearby wall, you stood, feeling your body being lifted as he carried you on his back.

— Hold on tightly. — He warned, too distracted to notice how you nuzzled your face against the crook of his neck. — I'll get you to Recovery Girl, don't worry.

— Thank you, I owe you one. — You muttered, feeling the breeze against your skin as he sped through the place. It was a mystery to you how someone so sensitive could rise to the challenge when the moment demanded it.

You'd have to ask a lot of questions once you returned to safety, but for now, all you needed to do was let him save you.

I feel so lost rn with all the spoilers! My heart!!! So does it mean touya always disliked/hated shouto? with that flashback and the way he used his name differently than natsu's. if it is true i blame enji, your 'amazing' parenting is responsible for it. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO THINK WHAT TO FEEL

Oh it’s really difficult to say something before the translation because there is so much TALKING.

But let’s dig just a bit.

1. Touya loved his dad a hella lot. Look at this kiddo in his old man’s merch t-shirts. 🖤

2. He was enjoying his training, he WANTED it. It was his way to prove his dad he’s worth it. Also from previous chapters we saw that at some point it was fun. He asked to teach him the new moves, etc.

He was so obsessed with Enji’s attention.

We see his face when new kids arrive and he’s not happy. But till Shouto it was ok. He communicates with his sis and also we had Natsuo’s perspective before, and based on that they got along well. But then... you can just clearly see how all the hope is evaporating

Fuyumi-chan, Natsu-kun, mom.

And then Enji Todoroki and just Shouto.

They never were close. He despised him from the very beginning. And honestly I can’t say it his fault. He was a kid...

And so this is the culmination of his frustration.

Maybe that’s partly the reason, Shouto was sheltered from siblings. I’m dying to know the translation of Enji and Touya talk before this attack. Probably smth along the lines that “I can’t train you anymore” ALSO. Seems like Todo parents visited Ujiko👀 Rei has short hair, so it was no so long after his birth. Doc says smth like “you should stop”. And smth about the quirk.

So can we say that Toyua spiraling to this state was parents’ fault? That they failed? Probably yes.

It’s so sad to think that baby Shou-Shou was forced to follow the path he had no desire to follow. Just bc of his strong body and quirk, while all he wanted was to play with his siblings. And his bro was ready to die trying to be in his place, but it simply wasn’t in his power...

Well, let’s wait for the translation together, and while we’re at it, take this cuties, Shouto aka little Kageyama Tobio, Fuyumi always there for his bros and baby Natsu🖤
