Ben Is Back (2018) Peter Hedges 10-06-2019 Starts off as an interesting and affecting family drama and moves to a sort of race-against-time/ mystery thriller. Although it was very well made and acted I feel the initial tense family conflict was much more of a better film than the second half stuff. There were some great emotional moments throughout.

Award-Winning Director Announces Middlemarch Web Series

This May, a group of Yale students finished a 70-episode LGBTQ+ literary web series called Middlemarch.

A modern adaptation of George Eliot's Victorian novel Middlemarch, the series follows a group of students living in the fictional town of Middlemarch, Connecticut who have set out to change the world while figuring out how to live in it.

Currently airing, the series was produced over the course of the 2016-2017 academic year with a one-person crew and a $1,000 USD budget. The series was created, written, directed, shot and edited by Rebecca Shoptaw and stars Mia Fowler as the series' lead, Dot Brooke

Shoptaw is an award-winning director knowing for her short films focused on LGBTQ+ representation, which prompted her to create Middlemarch. The series currently has 21 episodes with new episodes airing every Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 PM EST. Follow along using their official hashtag #MMTS and get caught up with the series today!
