There’s something about tattooing tiny pieces of nature that makes my heart so happy. This little bumblebee was such a joy to create—small, delicate, and full of life. I’ve always felt connected to the natural world, drawn to the quiet magic found in every leaf, petal, and wing. There’s a kind of reverence in permanently marking someone with a piece of that beauty, as if we’re carrying a little bit of the wild with us wherever we go.
The best tattoos always come with stories, and this one was no exception. My client told me about an 8-hour kayaking trip she took, where a bumblebee landed on her leg—right where this tattoo now sits—and stayed with her for quite a stretch of the journey. It was one of those rare, peaceful moments that just sticks with you. So, she decided to honor that little bee by making it a constant companion. Now, it’s with her for every new adventure.
We laughed the whole session, imagining how many people might instinctively try to swat at her leg this summer when they catch a glimpse of this tiny guy. But honestly? I love that it’s a piece that’ll spark those double-takes—like nature itself, quietly surprising and sweet.
I love what I do. I love the conversations, the laughter, the shared moments, and the trust that goes into every piece. And I love that, in some small way, I get to turn fleeting moments—like a bee hitching a ride on a summer day—into something lasting.
