Admittedly, Apollo panicked at the sound of crashing waves entering the cave they'd been investigating in, and he grabbed Maria by the wrist and ran the hell away, further into the cave, away from the water. He couldn't swim, and it sounded like the tide was rolling in. They had to climb up to higher ground- as high up as the cave would let them- but of course that wasn't easy either, not with how slippery the rocks were.

Apollo stared at the bottle, a little confused for a minute, before deciding to trust the other. "Oh, thanks." He nodded with an appreciative smile, as he took the bottle and untwisted the cap. "I've... actually been wanting to talk to you."

Ooof course the literal second the fop leaves to take a piss, not only does someone come up, but it's also someone he knows! Thank God it wasn't Clay, but freaking still!

"Listen. I'm helping out a friend. This isn't my idea for a charity booth!" Lord knows he'd botch it all up, he didn't like to give little displays of love to someone he'd just met, even if he were being paid! Gross.

The Tides Have Turned

It’d been an investigation he’d gotten to see early. Apollo technically didn’t have a client, and he was technically... not working today... but he couldn’t keep his curious eyes away from a crime scene, and the police, having recognized him, seemingly, hopefully, let him in. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much around to look at, in fact, there really seemed to be... no one around. Was this even a crime scene? 

Then came the nondescript man. He bumped shoulders with Apollo, and that was the only time the off-the-clock attorney seemed to notice him. Before Apollo could say anything at all, though, he was too far away for it to be socially acceptable. Yeah, that was suspicious. He could have been a witness, but Apollo didn’t trust it, so he started walking in the direction he came from, towards the lake dock.

Apollo, what's your opinion on Von Karmas?

"I can't say I have a particularly strong opinion. I mean, Prosecutor Manfred Von Karma had his notorious record that Pheonix Wright broke, which is what made him a well-known name, but he only got that way by cheating, conspiring, withholding information, etc. He wasn't much better than Mr. Gavin. Then there's his daughter, who's spent the rest of her life since his arrest, trying to restore the Von Karma name."

"Then there's this other Von Karma girl, I guess? Apparently I went up against her in court as a paralegal..."

"But I don't remember that at all. In fact, I hardly remembered that case, all I learned from it were generic tips like 'always be looking over evidence' and 'always keep calm, cool, and collected...' and 'keep calm and carry on.' Nothing much of substance."

Ford had been talking for what seemed like hours about some story that was clearly going nowhere. Every time he gets even an inch of an idea that Apollo isn’t paying attention he gives a “Hey, pay attention, this is the good part.” Let’s just say…his story isn’t making for a very productive work environment.

“And so I say to the guy, “Who do you think you are?” and of course now he’s looking at me crazy! I gotta get serious, y’know? So,“ He just keeps going and going.

"Um..." Apollo wasn't nearly as short-tempered as many thought him out to be, in fact, while he definitely had explosive anger, he had such a long fuse that it was rare to see it when Apollo was having a good day. However, as high-strung as he was, especially when he was busy and trying to get things done, it was a very quickly burning fuse, and anyone could tell that he was trying to be patient with the other. "Mr. Frontal, with all due respect, are we getting to the part where you witnessed the crime?"
