apparently it's midnight cooking time so have some braised beef and braised pork ribs for my meal prep and a ridiculously addictive date paste (recipe curtesy of @weilongfu) which I have to defend against my roommate and his spoon....
Gave myself heartburn from some midnight cooking let’s go!!!!!
I cut up half an onion and two cloves of garlic. Sprayed the pan with some olive oil. Added the onion and garlic and stirred on medium-high heat. After a little while I added some fresh dill, then basil, chives, parsley, and ginger. I mixed a bit more and decided to add some red curry paste I found in the fridge. And finally I added another paste I got from my friend’s dad, which they get regularly from the local farmers market. They don’t know what it is, neither do I but I love it.
Anyway just my lips and heart are burning nothing else
Midnight cooking. I couldn’t sleep so I made much for the next day in 4 in the morning.
Buntan jam
Buntan is a some kind of Orange, and is a specialty of Kochi prefecture located in the south area of Japan.
Although I think it is the most delicious fruits, Buntan is not so popular fruits especially in the east Japan. Some Japanese does not know this fruits.
I strongly recommend to try the taste if you have chance.
Anyway! today's midnight cooking is Buntan jam!
The result
The result of midnight cooking.
Umm... satisfied. 😊👌
In a parallel world, I don't go to bed at 2:30am because I needed to cook enough food for me and my roomies to survive the week. Also in a parallel world, tho, I can't make a delicious stir-fry with the cheap-ass ingredients in my pantry after watching a YouTube tutorial.
My neighbor made lasagna at 2 am and was really really proud of it and invited my roommate and me to eat some. I really hope that I made it clear that I wasn't appalled at his cooking, but simply at the fact that I despise and wish tortuous existence upon 97.7778% of lasagna.
