Psychonauts VR 2
should we ever get a PN3, we need another midquel first. This one would take place a week or two after the events of the sequel. The plot would be Raz and the rest of the junior and adults Psychonauts track down and stop the rest of the delugionist cult. Surprises includeā¦
You can not just play as Raz through his POV, but at some points you can also play as Lili, Sasha, Milla, Sam and more.
One of the missions involves rescuing Helmut fullbearās cryogenetically frozen body from the frozen lake, thaw it out and rebrain him.
New powers include cryogenesis, Hydrokinesis and Electrokinesis.
like rhombus of ruin, the game would open up with a James Bond-style song.
Something I don't see talked about at all is how many stories in Disney spin-off media seem to take place sometime during the original movie they're based on.
For example, Pinocchio is almost always seen as a puppet still, Bambi is still a fawn, Robin Hood is still an outlaw pursued by Prince John, and many The Lion King stories show Simba as a cub.
The exception seems to be stories based on the princess movies, which almost always take place after their respective "happily ever after" endings.
This sort of thing was happening in comics and children's books decades before the direct-to-video midquels and interquels were a thing. It's like Disney was reluctant to show these characters in any other way besides their more familiar- and possibly more marketable- earlier versions.

It is always ideal to find a roof to have over your head, especially when you now have others to look after as well as yourself.

This is a midquel to my 'Rewind' comic, this takes place before the final image of the girls and the Nomes sleeping in the original comic, and after the rest of the comic.
This is also to set up the setting for sequel comics of this AU. The girls now live in an abandoned manor in an abandoned town with their Nome friends. Six remembers seeing Mono in the tree, but decides to not go back to that forest because she knows that the Hunter will also be there, so to set up why Mono will not be appearing in this AU. Plus they are well hidden in the manor, so the Ferryman won't find them, so they won't get taken to the Maw, thus Runaway Kid won't make an appearance either.
(these are my in-comic reasons why the boys won't appear in any sequels plus with the Signal Tower gone, there's no guarantees that the boys are in the locations that they are in this time, though I have other reasons too. I'll specify on a separate post that I'll make after I upload the animatic video of this comic, which will come soon).

Itās kind of ironic how much hate was wasted on the Disney direct-to-video sequels. It seemed like everybody was raging against them, making claims that they wereĀ ācheap cash grabsā andĀ ādisrespectful to the originalsā, as well as being terrible in general.
After having watched nearly all of them, I can say with absolutely certainly that two of those statements are 100% untrue. And the third, that theyāreĀ ācheap cash grabsā is only partially true.
Yes, a few of them early on were definitely produced on the cheap, using low-budget TV animation studios rather than the usual. But as time went on, the animation got better and better until it was nearly indistinguishable from theatrical animation. Heck, some of them were released at a time when Disney wasnāt doing 2D animation in theaters at all.
And as far as the other claims go, I think most if not all of them are very good films in their own right. And in some cases, Iād say they were actually better than the originals (Cinderella III comes to mind). Why they made so many sequels/midquels to movies that werenāt really that popular to begin with (Brother Bear, The Fox and the Hound, etc.) Iām not sure, but it never did any harm.
Itās sad that John Lasseter seemed to agree with the criticism when he pulled the plug on direct-to-video movies. And now that Disneyās been pumping out live-action remakes, the controversy seems so silly and pointless now. The remakes may not be cheaply-made, but theyāre definitely cash grabs, and without a doubt disrespectful. (Just watch any of the direct-to-video films, and youāll see a special thanks to the original artists in the end credits! The remakes give them diddly-squat.) But what makes things different now is that, unlike before, it feels like only a small number of people seem to think so. The box office numbers show that everyone else doesnāt seem to give a darn, and are more than willing to give the bigwigs at Disney more money to pump out more remakes.
Iāve heard the argumentĀ āitās not made for youā and āthe originals still exist, theyāre not getting replacedā repeated ad nauseum, as if that really disproves the real issues these remakes have.
What happened between then and now that brought about these kind of apologists anyway? It seems like itās been happening all over pop culture discourse in general- people who canāt see the problems with a piece of media, and will bend over backwards defending it. Sometimes it feels like you canāt criticize anything without somebody jumping on you and telling you that the people who made it can do no wrong and should be practically worshipped. (Of course, there's also the opposite type of person, who seems to think that they can do no good and thatĀ everythingĀ they make is terrible. I canāt decide which is more annoying.)
To end on a positive note, if youāre a fan of traditional animation, and Disney in particular, do yourself a favor and watch the sequels. Not all of them are great, but all of them are still worth watching in my opinion, and the ones that are great are unforgettable.
