i really hate will byers haters. i don't get how people can be so rude and cruel to a young, vulnerable, and traumatized person. lets remember all the things will has been through!

will byers has an extremely abusive father that would call him horrible names and slurs

will byers comes from a lower class family and struggled with money issues

will byers was bullied by kids in his grade and only managed to make 4 friends from elementary to middle school

will byers was kidnapped and taken to an alternate dimension where he was actively hunted by a blood thirsty monster for a week with no access to food or water

will byers was caught by said blood thristy monster and was kept as a sanctum for its slug babies (metaphor for SA btw)

will byers had to suffer terrifying PTSD induced hallucinations and visions keeping him from living a normal life

will byers regularly had hospital and experimental tests done on him

will byers learned the hard way that these hallucinations weren't actually just hallucinations and was possessed by a creature of the upside down, wanting to use his body as a vessel to kill people from the right-side up

will byers went through excruciating pain during the burnings of the tunnels (ehem burning alive is one of the most painful deaths someone could ever have)

will byers was forced to tell the mindflayer and the demodogs where he was, leading to the endangerment of his loved ones and of all the doctors and soldiers in the medical facility

will byers has to forever live with the guilt that he indirectly caused people's deaths

will byers has to forever live with the guilt that he indirectly caused Bob's, who is his mother's boyfriend's, death

will byers had to see all his friends grow up around him while he can't because his childhood was stripped from him

will byers is ignored by his friends when he just wanted to spend time with them

will byers has to go through the pain of mike, one of his best friends, throwing the same words his dad and his bullies said at him

will byers has to feel mindflayer again

will byers has to move to california, away from his friends and support system

will byers has to navigate a new life in california, dealing with his mom pulling away due to stress and work, seeing his brother get into drugs, and trying to help his new sister as they face high school together

will byers comes to the realization that he has a crush on mike, the same guy who his sister is dating

will byers comes to the realization that he's gay, in a time where being gay could get you ostracized, hated, and even killed

will byers has to deal with the fact that all those things his dad and troy, and his other bullies had said were true

will byers confesses to his love, but has to put his sister's name in the place of his, because from his perspective, mike and el are in love, and he can't get in between their happiness, and he listens as mike recycles will's speech for el, and how mike says that "his life started that day in the woods..." the day he disappeared, the day will byers changed forever, so he stands on the sidelines and is their biggest supporter, because in his mind, someone like him doesn't deserve love, because he thinks he's too broken to be loved

will byers has to go back to hawkins, he has to feel vecna again, the man, the monster, who ruined his life

so before you say that will is stupid, that he gets in between your ship, that he's a crybaby, that you wish he dies in season 5, think about all of what i've said and ask yourself:

"do you hate him, or do you hate that you can't handle what a strong character he is?"

bro i just realized that mlp had more (and better) queer rep then stranger things. yk, like the show that is, supposedly, about freaks and outcasts? fucking my little pony, not had one, but TWO separate instances of queer main character ships (appledash in the og mlp g4 and rarijack in equestria girls) that had more substance than byler, which was heavily hinted at and referenced by not only the actors and others that worked on the show, but the official st accounts.

sometimes the biggest byler proof is the difference in how mike and lucas treat will, regardless of their girlfriends

yk what i love about byler? is that i can see every character in the show clocking them at some point in some capacity.

like dustin, lucas, and max can defo see the tension building but they aren't gonna say anything because for them it's just a theory and it's probably really damn hilarious to them.

nancy and johnathan don't need explanation, they're hella smart when it comes to reading their younger siblings and johnathan alr clocked will and prob mike.

joyce probably knows will is gay but might not have clocked that mike is attracted to him. ted and karen defo see smtg going on judging by what they've said to mike in the past.

murray, steve, and robin are more stretchy with their theories, except murray's is more polished. robin will defo clock will judging by them being a "dynamic duo" in s5, and by extension steve will probably to. if mike wheeler just so mentions he doesn't like fast times around steve and robin, he'll get clocked so quickly.

hopper will see the tension but won't want to believe that his arch nemesis micheal queerler is going after another one of his kids.

holly is definitely gonna recognize something happening between her girl dads and i love that for her

vecna is gonna pull the "i know what you are mike" or "i know you're dirty little secret" or smtg yk

el has so seen the difference in how mike treats her and will and she's lowkey probably clocked it alr at the end of s4
