I don't want to make this post but I can't avoid it. We have said goodbye to our very special Millie Dillie tonight. Her condition has quickly gotten worse. We could no longer watch her suffer. Cardiomyopathy robs you of life so quickly. Millie was our very first senior as an official non profit sanctuary. She has been with us for over a year and a half. Millie had so much personality and life. None can compare. She has fought her entire life to be alive, she proved her strength over and over again. She was and is the most resilient dog I have ever known. Millie will be greatly missed by all of us. She could make the best faces of anyone. Millie always kept us laughing and no one was a stranger to her. She loved greatly, and was so forgiving. She was the epitomy of what our sanctuary stands for. Every senior at the sanctuary loved her. She never had an enemy! We could all learn from the Millies of the world. This world would be a much better place. Our hearts our broken over the loss of our girl. We have lost three seniors this week. It has been very difficult on all of us. We will continue to rescue in Millie's honor. Only looking forward not back. Her last moment were spent with myself, Molly, Dr. A, and Kaitylnn another one of our wonderful vet techs. Millie was.ushered into peace with a loved filled room. What more could I ask for. We love you Millie Dillie. Love was whispered until your last breath and forevermore.
