As this day comes to a close and I am thinking what this week will bring. I look at my phone and see all these beautiful faces. Some times the days are heartbreaking. Nights turn into long days of waiting by their side. Taking care of them and ushering the seniors in to peace. Its certainly not easy saying goodbye. We have lost 13 seniors since June and 4 this week. But somehow we have served our purpose. We gave them what they came here for and that is simply to be loved. Somehow the heartache heals and turns into love and hope for another new senior. I couldn't dare write another sad post. My heart just can't handle it. I wanted to show you why we do what we do. All I have to do is look at their beautiful faces and I know I'm home. My heart is with these silly, lovable, strong, fierce, and forgiving seniors. They know the true meaning of love, hope, and joy. Each day we help heal their hearts but I believe they equally heal mine. Seniors dogs have the old souls we should all learn from. If we could all be so lucky. I'm blessed to live out my dream and see the sanctuary thrive. I get to live among them. Some days may be crazy, some days may be hard but I can 100% guarantee all days are filled with love.
