Happy Birthday, @mimble-sparklepudding! I only came across your nameday post just now, oops; I hope I'm not too late with the well wishes. I really love your collection of fun and thoughtful ask questions, and thank you for being kind and supportive of various creators in the community.

When it comes to platonic/friendship pair, the holmesians—Sora and Yiuno—are the first that come to my mind, especially since they are the main characters of my fanfic project. Their relationship was as rocky as the journey they set out on, each of them struggling with their self-identity, inner demons and fears, but they eventually come to terms with who they are and are now close friends whom they know they can entrust their backs to one another.

When she's able, Wilfreda likes to tag along on Maelstrom trade missions to Camp Overlook—it gives her a chance to check in on Ga Bu. They'll sit together on the loading dock, and Wilfreda will produce a couple of La Noscean oranges from her pockets to share. She asks about his training to become a pickman, or about what life is like in the 620th order. She also shares stories from her travels, taking special care to relate anything having to do with Alisaie.

The rift between man and kobold may be deep and not easily healed, but their friendship represents one small, beautiful step in the right direction.

you mentioned wanting to see works related to friendship, and the first friend of Ravel's that came to mind actually belongs to my real-life best friend since high school! she was the person who got me into FFXIV, and it's such a joy to be able to hang out in Eorzea when we can't see each other in person.

the back of her cottage felt like a fitting place to recreate a scene that's been played out countless times over the last decade. Ravel and Xani make for an absolutely notorious dungeon-delving team; there's nothing quite like the bond between a tank and their favorite DPS.

Nameday Nonsense...

This unit would go so far as to assert that spending time with friends in this fashion is... meaningful.

I know there have been quite a few nameday posts recently, so I don't want to be a nuisance, but it is my birthday on the 23rd April.

So if anyone did want to do a themed post for the occasion then my request would be the following (although anything would be appreciated):

Any gposes or screenshots or pieces of writing that show your OC with one or more of their friends - or that explore themes around friendship and unity. It can be old friends or new friends; friends with benefits or friends with significant disadvantages; bonds forged in the fires of battle or a connection formed through shared experiences.

I would be delighted with anything of course, but I would be especially delighted with any examples of friendships between characters with very different personalities or backgrounds - or connections formed across cultural, social or other barriers. In these troublingly tribalistic times such things would be especially comforting.
