There is always room for improvement, and in every situation there is a lesson

I am currently sitting here, working on some writing and thinking about how much I have to improve in my life, and that fills me with so much joy. There is always a reason for me to improve; always something to strive for. In your poor choices find a reason to grow, in your good choices also find a reason to grow. Plant those seeds and care for them, they will flower into fruits that you never knew could exist. My regards, Sebastien

Becoming a parent after having a narcissistic parent #3:

Before you have kids, you’re afraid of

NOT being kind

NOT being a good parent

NOT being able to break the cycle.

However, these fears are evidence of self awareness, which leads to recognition and knowledge. With these tools, change is possible YET only if you value yourself and have the confidence that you are better than where you came from.

When someone asks me for romantic relationship advice, this is how I respond:

“Love is not enough. No one will tell you this, and I’ll be labeled as a cynic for saying it out loud. Don’t respond right away, just promise me you’ll think it over… the truth is, love is not enough on its own.

You can have love, but what else? I loved a bad boy once and he was not kind. I loved another guy and he was so impatient with me… it wasn’t real. I loved my ex boyfriend but in the back of my mind there was always an itch telling me not to trust him—and he proved to be untrustworthy.

Bottom line is… It’s not true love if it’s not kind, patient, and trusting—just like it says in Corinthians 13 NIV. I consider myself spiritual, not religious. But Corinthians hit the nail on the head. That’s the secret to true love.

- Ryōkan This is probably one of my favorite poems, it is minimal and clear, yet conveys such a deep meaning of simplicity. Ever since reading this I need I wanted it to be my next tattoo.  Is it not ironic        how a simple poem      can lead to          such mortal desire?
