Rollercoaster Sometimes in life we find ourselves waiting in lines. Waiting till life turns into a theme park ride. Rollercoasters to be exact, simple, exciting, stomach turning, heart racing tracks. Warning signs in front should also say, comes to a complete stop, you'll end up where you start and not for the faint of heart. I don't like waiting, especially for something that might just kill me. But you were in line too, convinced me, this thrill is everything life's about. I'm of a shorter stature, and never stray to far from sidewalks. I'm not tall enough to ride the rollercoaster but if my height were my spirit, it grew getting to know you. In my peripheral was someone familiar, an individual looking for a little color in life's black and white converse. Someone else's perspective to compare and contrast my own. You told me I've become part of your days, and my heart slowly climbed like a coaster to the top. Till it inspires a change, for this casual to collapse into something deeper like the first drop. You needed me like I needed you to pass the time, waiting in line. But you left right before it was our turn to ride. Life is funny sometimes, I thought I was waiting for my turn at this rollercoaster, a thrill of life. But did you know that it was you who was my rollercoaster ride. And once again I’m left waiting in line. story inspired by a friends story.
