This is my first actual post on here, but I wanted to rant a bit about something that I have seen become more prominent in Mcyt and online creator spaces as of late.

In regards to several ship polls that have been made, people are being encouraged to disregard the boundaries that are put into place by the CC’s themselves. A lot of this discourse is around the idea that boundaries are for friends not content creators, and that they are simply rules that have no place in governing the community.

I say at least in my opinion, it is basic human respect to not purposely make people uncomfortable, especially people that you claim to admire or appreciate. Now if it is in a space where a CC could not accidentally stumble across it, like for example AO3, that would be understandable, because while you might be breaking that boundary it is not somewhere in which it can easily be stumbled across. It does not make it ok, but it makes it less likely that a CC might find it on accident.

Some people also justify their actions with, well “insert different CC” said that ship content of them was fine! Well until you hear that from the horses mouth don’t do jack where it can be seen or push at that button until they crack.

Now some may also say that they are grown adults who can simply block that person. Alright then, let them block you, OR BETTER YET BLOCK THEM YOURSELF!

And especially don’t encourage others to break those boundaries just because you believe that they don’t matter. If someone else wants to be a better human being than you, let them.

It’s a slippery slope, where do boundaries that are breakable end? With other adults? Children? Where do we draw a line with what is said publicly where they can see it?

This fandom would genuinely be so much better if basic respect were present at least most of the time! The CC’s are actual people with feelings, though some would choose to believe otherwise and fully disregard that fact.

Though this is just my opinion, I feel like I’ve seen enough on this godforsaken app to want to make a comment. Though I will apologize for the length of this rant post, kind of sucky first post to make if I’m honest.

The worst thing about having ‘smaller’ Minecraft SMPs as my hyperfixation is that I can’t get any prints, stickers or pins of these sad gay blorbos and I’m too broke to afford the prices of the ones that exist cause of conversion rates 😀

Every time I come across one of the hermits irl names (it’s happened several times since I started watching in season 6) I promptly forget it. It will never matter to me the way it sometimes does on other smps. Those and Grian and Scar, why the heck would I ever need any other name for them?
