Angelic Pretty - Dress-up Berry Knitted Mini Hat
The second tranche of Big Knit Hats! The Christmas tree took forever, there will only ever be one. Getting ever closer to using up my scrap box :)
Hey guys! I received BTSSB's Pomme rouge mini hat for Christmas, alongside a Princess Shirring JSK, both in pink. I plan to make a coord utilizing both of them in pink/burgandy, but I have never coorded with a mini-hat before. All of my head accessories are vintage full-size hats, so I'm lost. I have short hair as well, so a wig's needed for balance's sake. What kind of wig styles would you recommend for a Classic/Simple Sweet gal like me, to balance out that mini-hat? Thank you ahead of time!
A hat like that can really benefit from hair with a lot of volume to make it look less like it’s just floating there if that makes any sense. I think just a simple longish wig with curls will do nicely. Something like this gives you good length and volume to pull off a hat like that or even something like this which isn’t so big on length but I love seeing mini hats with fluffy curls.
Submitted question #934: Coord Help
Submitted question:
First, I wanted to say that your blog has taught me basically everything I need to know about Lolita fashion and I’m really grateful! Anyway, I’m new to Lolita and I just bought my first dress. I bought Pumpkin Cat’s “Spun Sugar Rabbit” in OP 1 and I’m looking for hair accessories for my coord. Would SheenasBellaBows’(Etsy) "Mini Pastry Chef Hat" in Pink look good with my OP? My logic to the hat is that it goes with the pastry theme of my OP. I would probably also add some small blue bows or ribbon in my hair to balance out the colors. I want to make sure that it would look good before I buy anything. Thanks!
Response from Lolita Tips:
I think they could be really cute together! Personally though I think if you’re going to go with the chef hat you should take the baking theme even further. It might be cute if you were to add a little white apron that’s short enough to still show the print or even just baking inspired jewelry like this charm bracelet for example.
I made a tiny hat!
What you can't see unless you're inside the Christmas tree:
How messed up my mattress stitch is.
I would say I'm never using this yarn again (Dollarama and mystery yarn from the thrift store), but it's the only fingering weight yarn I have and I can't afford to buy anything else. It could very well be that my tremor has gotten too bad for me to mattress stitch fingering weight yarn, but I'm not willing to say that until I've tried it with some proper yarn.
