I recently got my hands on a grocery store variegated mini jade/elephant bush (portulacaria afra) plant for around $5 (US dollars). The entire seedling pot was actually made of three individual plants, so I split up the pot, adding two of the plants to a larger outdoor box arrangement and planting the third into a small 2" pot for eventual bonsai purposes.
Out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could encourage a couple of tiny trimmings into putting out roots through water propogation. So I put these tiny trimmings into a small vial of water.
We'll see what happens.

My elephant bush, mini jade, and ripple jade. A fabulous trio ✨
This is a Crosby's Compact Mini Jade (Crassula ovata compacta). I named him Bing Crosby, for obvious reasons. I found his angel planter at a thrift store. Bing is my favorite jade, but I also have Gollum Jade and Ogre Ears. I've never had luck propagating from fallen leaves, but I may keep trying.
