By a Lady of Note in the Country, who had entirely lost her Hearing 47 Years, from a Cold in her Head, in her Minority, so that she could not hear the Discharge of a Gun close to her; and having spent a great deal of Money upon all the Practisers for the Ears she could hear of, far and near, both in Town and Country, and also try’d every Thing she was told of to no purpose, she contented her self with believing, that she was out of the reach of Cure; But it pleas’d God, soon after, to throw into her Hands, be a mere Chance, at a Friend’s House, an old physical Book, where, amongst many Receipts, for almost all Distempers, was one for Deafness, compounded of several innocent Ingredients, tho’ troublesome and tedious to prepare, it requiring half a Year to finish it in; this however, (without little expectation of Success, tho’ mightily cry’d up by the Author for the great Cures it had done) she made and used, as therein directed, and such were the surprizing Effects, that in one Months Time, she could hear a little, and begin to distinguish Sounds, and by degrees grew better and better, insomuch that in a little more than 4 Months, by a constant keeping to it, it miraculously and perfectly cured her, that she can now Hear as well and as quick as any Person whatsoever, and has continued so for above 3 Years, tho’ she is now near 65 Years of Age. She has cured above 50 People with the same, of Deafness, Thickness of Hearing, and Noise in the Head and Ears, and it never once fail’d; and being much importun’d to make it publick, that others in the like Condition might have the Opportunity of trying it, she has sent some Bottles of it to Town, which are now to be had, with Directions how to use it, of Mr. Isted, a Bookseller, at the Golden Ball against St. Dunstan’s Church Fleet-street, (who can attest the Truth of this Relation) at half a Guinea each, which, computing Charges and Trouble, is but much about what it stands her in, she expecting no Profit, tho’ it is worth 10 Guineas a Bottle. She desires all such, as are said to be incurable, not to take up with that Opinion, till they have made constant Use of it, as she did.
