💞 @liimaband....and not only because the first new song they played was called '1982' like the year I'm born in (coincidence at its best). Throwbachthursday to the last time I felt like a total fan when I met @roryjwilliams of @sunsetsons and even forgot how my camera works....and I just have it for 10 years or so....and yes, I did an interview a few weeks earlier without being fanstuck. And I really am annoyed that I can't find a way to go to any of their concert in autumn. Bummer. Miss D watching Júníus Meyvant’s video for “Neon Experience”.

I saw a photo of  Júníus Meyvant this morning and I must admit that I was quite surprised when I hit the play button. I didn’t expect such a funky soul explosion. Of course I know not all men with beard make sad folk music but the moodyness in his eyes and lack of colours in the photo didn’t suggest such colourful music. Actually I was so surprised that I searched for him online to make sure that bearded dude on the photo and that dude who makes the music are the same person. They are. Or he is. I’m amazed. And I want to dance, expansive and slow and joyful. 

“Neon Experience” is taken from his forthcoming debut album “Floating Harmonies” (release due 8th of July 2016). On the album he shows some more sides. He can be also the Folk man and being a bit more settled down with just a hint of Soul. It’s wonderful. 

He’ll be on tour as well - see you there?

Miss D watching Theodore playing piano. 

This video for “Are We There Yet?” is about a year old. It’s barely a beard but I’ve checked his facebook page and can tell you: he hasn’t shaved. Rather the opposite. Yes! And even more: I have listen to Theodore’s upcoming second album “It Is But It’s Not” (22nd of July). It’s absolutely beautiful and diverse: it has elements of Classic, Rock, Pop and Electronic. It’s huge. It’s stirring in one moment just to soothe you a few seconds later. I’m still discovering so many different sides. 

Theodore plays several instruments - for the album played piano, guitar, synths and glockenspiel while he is accompanied by rock musicians and strings. I’ll also watching him playing live in Berlin next week as you should, too. He will also play a showcase in London.

Miss D listening to Rodrigo Amarante.

Every once in a while I get recommendations of music I should listen to not mentioning more than “he has a beard” and that I might like it. A few days ago it was Rodrigo Amarante. I’m terribly late to the party considering his debut album “Cavalo” is about two years old. He has a great beard. His music is beautiful. If his voice was a pillow, I'd love to rest my head on it. It’s so warm and comforting and tender. It doesn’t matter that half of the songs are written in a language I don’t speak, it feels like I can feel his emotions. The melodies are rich and spare at the same time. There is room for oneself, room to breath but at the same time you can get fully lost in his world, feeling a little out of place and space.

Video with bearded man (Robert Ellis) walking around an empty city and leaning against walls looking sad who I'd love to hug to make him feel better while he keeps on singing “How I Love You”. Unfortunately beautiful model type girl is waiting for him on a bridge. Sad times for Miss D. His music will soothe my sadness, fourth self-titled album will be out on the 3rd of June. But one question remains: Who shall I hug now?
