--- He had been doing that ever since the news about Shapeshifters being murdered hit the news. Having MJ as basically an honorary sister, had Leon extra worried about her and trying to find ways he could protect her. She was stronger than him, wiser than him, but he’d still feel protective over her. Call it toxic masculinity, he’d take it. But it made him feel less anxious to know for sure that she was safe.
He hadn’t been feeling like himself. The heat waves, the shift in the weather, the dizziness he felt whenever the moon hung high in the sky, all were reasons for his headaches to worsen. Once, when the temperature first rose, he even blacked out in his apartment, but he didn’t tell anyone that. Well--he did tell Laurel when asking for guidance on what could be happening to him. The suggestion of the influence of the full moon made sense to him, especially since, he had been feeling particularly different at specific points each month for the last five years, he just didn’t know why. It just had never been this bad.
A thunder broke in the sky, as loud as if it were inside Leon’s head. Loud enough to steal a scream from his lips as he hit the brakes suddenly. one hand gripping on the wheel, while the other held onto the side of his head. The heavy rain was falling like little knives against his car’s windows and it felt like it got even worse as he screamed in pain. Breathing heavily, Leon tried to calm himself. “I need---I need you to drive, MJ.”
