Can we just talk for about how the ring that contained Felix’s Amok BROKE?

In a fit of rage, Colt slammed his fist into something so hard that the ring CRACKED and caused him some form of harm, which ultimately led to him figuring out that the ring kept him alive.

In that moment, what exactly could’ve happened to Felix? Did his Amok get released and his parents had to put it in a different object? Did he temporarily fall into some type of coma until the ring was fixed? This is such a strange thing and we’re left with NO explanation on what exactly happened to Felix.
