Uncanny Valley

A pinkie pie clone that survived. They have scars from where they were hit with Twilights magic and having a cutie mark that no longer belonged to them ripped off. They always look a little bit like you’re staring at a reflection of them, often that reflection cracks and breaks. Wonder what will happen if it completely shatters?

Mlp Mirror Pool AU (and kinda headcanony)

The Mirror Pool wasn’t the only one of its kind, it was a network of reflections across the entire world that Equestria resides in. Created by Discord once upon a time, before he became the immortal deity of chaos he is now. Perhaps the mirror pools were a reason for his ascent into the Draconequis he is now. He created it as a form of fast travel across the world, the blank slate clones hanging in the watery air was a surreal uncanny but FASCINATING side effect of the chaotic mirror magic he was tapping into. He eventually found out how to summon clones to the surface in an ancient book of his, and send them back.

I’m sure he’ll be surprised in that fascinated wizard way hearing what happened to his ancient creation. He’s kinda a grandparent now, how grand! If you consider the original mirror network his child anyway.

What would an Alicorn made of mirror shards look like?

The mirror pool was irrevocably changed by what happened. All the blank clones were now awake and aware of the reflective watery world around them, and the one in ground zero of the new little world created.

Bright pink surrounded by shards of glass on the ground and floating around them, Uncanny Valley was clearly different than the rest. The newly awakened mirror pool citizens were reflective like a pool of water or a mirror and their bodies shifted and shaped into many species beside just ponies. A reflection of what the world was like above them, they were the world mirroring it below.

Despite Uncanny’s feelings, they saw them as their deity in a world just created by the aftermath of them becoming who they are now. Just desperately wanting to survive while drowning and accidentally shattering the mirror. Uncanny themself cannot change much about their appearance besides eye color, hiding scars, giving a false cutie mark, and brightening or dulling their pink colors.

Imagine the Shattered Mirror pool realm a lot like the crystal empire in looks, but its citizens are more than just mirror ponies. There are mirrors of nearly every species and animal. Imagine crystalline reflective creatures that look like they are made of smooth mirror, with no visible eyes or mouths. Magical creatures in nature. They can mirror another person’s look similar to a changeling. But it’s…..uncanny and noticeably off. Maybe No cutie mark. A missing key feature. Their face seems fuzzy. Their eyes are glassy? Movements stiff? Is cracking textures in the air around them normal?

Kinda head canony

An AU where multiple Pinkie Pie clones escaped from being returned to the mirror pool. After their encounter with Twilight Sparkle, they all realized that they are clones. And an undocumented thing about clones from the mirror pool is that once a clone becomes aware of being a clone, they start to become their own being. The many clones from the mirror pool changing slightly in color, old copied cutie marks lost, new destinies and accompanied cutie marks gained, and gaining their own personality throughout living their very own lives.

An AU where one of the Pinkie Pie clones that got blasted back to the mirror pool wasn't sent back to the depths. Instead, the mirror pool spit them back out, scarred and without a cutie mark. They still vaguely look like Pinkie, but they have differences now. Like the huge star shaped scar on her chest where Twilight Sparkle struck her with that spell, and a patch of color on both flanks where a cutie mark used to be.

Optional additions-

This ex clone of Pinkie Pie was beginning to gain their own personality and way of thinking before being sent back to the mirror pool. The pool noticed this outlier amongst the pinkie clones it was organizing and spit them out, this section was for Pinkie clones and they were not a Pinkie. Not anymore.

What if Spike used the mirror pool?

I can see Spike using the mirror pool because he promised to do a whole lot of chores for multiple people because he is a very giving kid, and surrounded by adults who are awfully terribly fine with giving adult sized jobs to a child. So he gets the idea to make more of himself, so that he can be in more places at once and get things done faster. So very similar to canonical Pinkie Pie just doing tasks for others instead of hanging out with friends.

I can see it going more chaotic though, with him being a dragon (his Godzilla form) Is his Godzilla form even a dragon specific thing or a him specific thing? He was hatched very differently (and chaotically) so his dragon magic and genes could have glitched a little? He was hatched with pony magic after all, maybe this Godzilla form is a side effect of the pony magic interacting with his natural dragon magic. Back to the prompt, having more Spikes with the ability to get that rampaging form would be chaotic. because a clone without Spikes memories most likely wouldn’t have his discipline when it comes to dragon hoarding. Spike knows the consequences of hoarding things, the clones most likely won’t.

Somewhat unrelated I think it would be interesting, due to the circumstances of his birth and mixed magic, that both dragon versions of him and pony versions of him came out. Poor thing confused the mirror pool!

What if All of the mane six used the mirror pool?

In an au where all of the main six use the mirror pool I can see two possible scenarios.

There’s a big bad that they desperately need help with, but they don’t want to get Celestia and Luna involved because they’ve been very busy with political affairs. Probably stuff dealing with Lunas status as princess so suddenly after being cleansed by the elements of harmony. Who better to help them than themselves, so they clone themselves using the mirror pool and things get even worse for them than they imagined. Even if the big bad is dealt with, they now have clones of themselves they have to deal with. It feels wrong to just get rid of them because they helped, and are they starting to look different than the originals now?

Each of the main six are going through their own issues like canon pinkie pie was, separately and unknowingly to the others. They each find out, or in pinkies case previously knew about, the mirror pool and find it’s the perfect solution for their problems. Who better to help you than yourself? Especially with a task that needs multiple hooves and only you are truly qualified. Or if you want to be every where at once to get it done as fast as possible. Chaos ensues as the entire town is filled with copies of the main six. And it’s not going to be as easy as watching paint dry to figure out who is who and how to deal with the clones.
