The only reason people think Korean webtoons suck is because the chuds in charge of Webtoons keep translating generic white Korean male power fantasies and RoFan isekaislop while leaving gems that has actual social commentary and artistic merit untranslated, because they've invested A LOT of money on their platform going global and are therefore chasing mass appeal,
completely unaware that the overton window here in Korea is so fucked that what's seen as "radical political discourse" and "unmarketable feminist trash" here, is what passes as mainstream on the western internet, especially on nerd/fandom spaces.
If they really want the viral success they keep chasing, they should be platforming the "problematic creators (=said something vaguely feminist / in support of social justice once)" that they keep firing and running off their platform instead, but they're just WAY too bigoted to see that.
