the funnest part of reading books is telling people the plot like its hot gossip

#in middle school my friends and I would sit in the library #sit around on a desk and open a notebook we brought on the middle #each pull up a book #and whenever a funny passage or a juicy plot twist came up #we'd show each other and (quietly) freak out about it by writing on the notebook #it worked because we were all fans of the same series #(a korean fantasy series titled ''children of the rune'')#but sometimes we'd just do it even when we weren't familiar with the book the other was reading #that way the three of us could discover new books more effectively #sometimes we'd have really interesting finds #like that one nonfiction folklore studies book about japanese urban legends & school ghost stories by region #or that one book about the psychology of serial killers written by a profiler that spared no details down to every graphic detail #(<-seriously who thought this was an appropriate collection for a middle school library lol)#anyway #good times #mmari rambles

Do you remember the episode of Spongebob where he's training gary for the snail race and does a coach persona + calls gary a girl and has an aside where he's like "I called you a lady to demean you 🤓" and right after he says that it cuts to sandy and she somehow telepathically feels that Spongebob just did something misogynistic and us like I feel like I need to kick Spongebobs ass for some reason. And then she appears just at the end of the episode to kick his ass.
