She’s No You - Ch 18 part 1
One again this won’t let me post in full, so breaking into parts is what I have to do to post. This is the last chapter!!! Only the epilogue is next which will be set 5 years in the future...
If you need to refresh yourself with Finn’s family (especially his sister Mika) please re-read the introduction chapter, because she will be in the chapter.
Like everything I usually post on tumblr, this is unedited. I hope you like it! :)

Rae POV:
"Finn?"
"Give me your hand, I promise I won't let you fall" he spoke softly.
The blindfold restricted my view but I followed the melody of his voice until my hand grabbed his. My grip tightened as we shuffled forward, slowly but surely we made it to what seemed like an elevator. Since the blindfold was placed over my eyes the moment we got into the car, I still had no idea where we were, and what building we were in - but by the sound of it we were still in the city.
Finn's hand stayed firmly in mine, but his other hand wondered over my shoulder, up my neck, until finally he was cupping my cheek. I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face, unknown as to if his smile was just a pronounced as mine.
"I have loved you from the moment I met you. Your laugh, your... smile-" Finn moved his finger over my bottom lip making my smile grow even wider, "-You are everything to me. And I've tried living without you once, but everyday I constantly had to battle with myself not to go around there and beg you to take me back."
"Finn-"
"No, no. Please just let me say something first" he interrupted. We were still on our journey up in the elevator, my stomach was in knots but I was unsure if it was caused by the elevator or Finn.
"Without you, I wouldn't have my children. Without you, I would never of known what true love was. Without you, my life would of been a whole lot different."
"Shit" I whispered, but in all honestly it sounded more like a choked sob. Using my free hand, I ducked my fingers under the blindfold and wiping away the build up of tears.
Finn laughed, "I'm not me without you..." the bell tinged and the doors opened. A gust of wind hit my body suddenly and I shivered, in that moment I was glad that I still had my coat on.
We walked together slowly in a straight line, until coming to a holt some seconds later. Much to my dismay Finn let go of my hand.
"Take your blindfold off babe" he whispered in my ear causing a small fright.
I pulled it over my head and opened my eyes to a beautiful sight. Thousands of fairy lights scattered the roof top, twinkling against the Manhattan night life. Finn stood in front of me a smile dazzled his face as he took in my reaction.
"This is amazing" I breathed, wiping away another fallen tear.
"I would do anything to make you happy again."
Finn fell to one knee and looked up to me. My heart started to beat incredibly fast, my palms started to sweat. I didn't think he would do this so soon in our relationship.
"I told myself if i was going to do this again, I was going to do this right" he grabbed my left hand, "I know you better then you know yourself. I know that you feel hesitant about rushing our relationship, and you may feel that this step in our relationship is coming towards you too fast. But, in a perfect world we would still be married. I know I hurt you with stupid words, but I promise you I'll spent the rest of our lives together making it up to you. I promise that I will do everything in my power to make you happy. I love you Rachel, I love you so much that I will never give up trying until you say yes to me. So, with that all said and done. Will you Rachel Earl please do me the honour of being my wife, again?"
My heart ached with my decision, everything now fell on my shoulders. Do I void every doubt I have about saying yes and just do it, just jump head first and never look back. Or do I turn down the man I love because of my insecurities and the independence I've only just gotten a hold of?
I loved Finn with all my heart; I always have, even over the two years we spent apart. Right now looking a Finn waiting for my answer I knew I didn't have long to figure it out. I just hoped I was making the right decision.
"I like waffles most Sundays, unless I'm on a one day diet. My washing done on Wednesday, and my towels folded a particular way. I never want us to go to bed mad at each other, or without a kiss goodnight. I expect a foot rub at least once a month, plus I like the idea of you learning to pain my toenails." I rambled on whilst stroking his face with my free hand.
"I want us to do something at least once a week as a family, no matter what our work schedules are like. And I need to make a promise to you..."
I had realised it didn't matter what kind of routine I had orchestrated for myself Finn would always have a place; as the kids dad, and the love of my life.
I now understood the pain I put Finn through when I left him without talking to him first. It looked like I never trusted him, even though I truely did and I think that's why it hurt so much. I would never of believed that Finn was cheating on me without proof, they just obviously knew my weakness and took advantage of a situation. Finn was never at fault, and I punished him for two years. No wonder why he was so bitter towards me. His attacks where out of sheer anger, hurt and frustration. I wish I could turn back time, to the day this all started.
But here he was, down on one knee begging me to remarry him - the one who ripped his heart to threads. I could see the honesty in his eyes when he promised to make me happy til the day I die, I knew he would succeed. How could I possibly turn down his proposal because we are doing this faster then the average person?
"... I promise that I will come to you before jumping to conclusions no matter what... I promise I will never leave you again like that again. I want to make you happy as well Finn, and if me becoming your wife again will do that, then I think you should hurry up and slide that pretty rock on my finger."
"What?"
"You heard me.. Yes! Yes I'll marry you!"
His hand reached into his jacket pocket, and out he pulls a red velvet run box, but still he doesn't open it quite yet.
"Are you sure Rae?"
"Of course I'm sure. Why wouldn't I be?" I scoffed playfully.
"To be honest I thought you would of been a harder nut to crack" he jokes back, "I thought I'd have to ask you at least a few times first before you would finally give in to my charms".
He flicked the box open and pulled out a stunning oval cut diamond ring, the band itself was also a halo of diamonds. Grabbing my hand again he slid the ring onto my finger and stood to kiss me.
His lips were soft against mine, which where no doubt wet by the amount of tears I had been shedding. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer without breaking the moment.
We stayed there for another fifteen minutes until the cold wind got the better of us. Once we were in the elevator again I realised we were on the roof of Finn's office building. A place I remember always begging Finn to take me when he wasn't busy, but we never got the chance - until now.
We went down to Finn's floor and towards his overly lavish office. I couldn't help but notice the vacant desk where Olivia use to be seated. Finn must of noticed my curiosity because he pulled us to a stop.
"I'm never going to let that happen I promise".
I smiled, "I know but your going to need another personal assistant someday. Archie has told me about the mess you've been through since she was fired".
"Yes I know. But don't worry about that now, we have some celebrating to do" I laughed as he pulled me into his office and slammed the door.
The furniture looked new, which surprised me because the desk he use to have belonged to his grandfather. I never thought in a million years he would ever get rid of it.
I ran my fingers across his brand new plush chair before testing out the comfort, whilst Finn rummaged through the cabinet again the wall.
"I've got enough scotch to sink a battle ship".
I sighed dramatically, "oh well that will just have to do won't it Mr. Nelson".
"Hey! There's nothing wrong with a good top shelf scotch!" Finn pouted grabbing two glasses and proceeded to pour us a drink.
"To the future" Finn toasted.
"To an incredible future..." We clinked our glasses together, then downed the auburn liquid.
