Mock Matter

Mock Matter is a form one Gooey takes on when you bring them into the Dark Matter fight in Kirby's Dream Land 3.

As the name suggests this form imitates the appearance of Dark Matter, which makes sense because Gooey is made of Dark Matter.

This form has showed a few times since and has been even shown in the form of a mask. Written by Eris the Lorekeeper

GOOEY

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Gooey is one of Kirby's friends. He resembles a blue blob with a face and a long tongue. While he does not have any additional limbs, he can use his tongue to grab onto things, and stretch parts of his "body" to use as makeshift limbs when necessary. Gooey is said to be "made from the same stuff" as Dark Matter, but he has a friendly personality and no ill will. Though he is capable of speech, he knows little about himself or the world around him.

Notes: Even though Gooey already has a very decent moveset in Kirby Star Allies. Gooey should be the main candidate to bring back the representation of Chuchu, Nago and Pitch. That's why I thought they should bring some moves such as Chuchu's Parasol and Burning; Nago's Cutter and Needle; and Pitch's Cleaning and Spark.

DREAM OF STARS: Gooey is back to give a... hand??? Gooey is coming with his best friends Chuchu, Nago and Pitch who will help them by granting some unique abilities to face the dark. Nothing is stopping the power of Gooey's... heart???

Mock Matter is a Dark Matter too, right? How does he feel happiness?

Mock is a special case. While I wasn't there to see how he was created, he told me how he came to be. When mock was created, he was nothing but an amorphous blob of black sludge, something that Z̸͔̀e̵̢̾ṛ̵̡̓́o̷͇͗ didn't intend. As a result, Mock was banished from the Hive-Mind, and flung towards Popstar, where he later took form and quickly adapted to the planet's positivity.

By technicality, he was born on the planet.

Was getting pictures for the orb-centric follow up to my Dark Matter Blade design post, and I had a realization when getting pictures of Mock Matter Gooey:

He has a forked tongue in Mock Matter?? HELLO?? Not sure if I’ve seen any talk about this (which makes sense, it never shows up outside art). The more I think about the possible implications of this are honestly really fun to think about, like, is this something that would happen to other Dark Matter too? Do they have any other snake-like traits? Are the orange orbs that circle them like scales? So many questions…
