Heyo, this event popped into my head recently and I started wondering about it. Just curious: do you have any plans to do themes for next year? I mean, considering the state of the fandom, I get why you might not want to. It was really fun to see the everyone come together a little!

Hello! My apologies for such a late response. I didn’t receive a notification from the tumblr app, and haven’t been monitoring this blog for a while.

Unfortunately, participation with these events was already minimal at best when the fandom was in full swing, so I don’t anticipate there would be much, if any, participation now that things have come to a huge lull. It takes work to come up with, organize and run events, and I don’t think the outcome would be worth the effort at this particular moment in time. Should the fandom pick up in the future, and should I personally ever get past the block that Dragonwatch put me into, this can be revisited.

If there is another person out here who would like to come up with, promote, organize and run events in the interim, by all means, please DM me (@aerinsfables or @aerinmelina) and we’ll talk.

For 2022, we’re going to switch things up a bit again. There’ll be an “every other month” schedule, based on previous participation levels, and here are the themes for the year!

Prompts will be posted along with the themes for the specified months (and, as always, prompts will be suggestions and not requirements for participation).

Basic rules/guides:

1. All content must be SFW (safe for work) in order to be eligible for reblog;

2. Any fan-made content is eligible for reblog (fics, art, aesthetics, shitposts, playlists, hc’s, etc);

3. Shippy, spoilerific and salty content must be tagged appropriately;

4. We reserve the right to refrain from reblogging any content whatsoever at the mods’ discretion. That being said, sometimes we just don’t notice your posts while looking through tags - if you create something for these events and you don’t see your content reblogged here within a few days of your initial post, please feel free to tag our blog either in your post or in the comments and we’ll take a peek!

September is ~Villain Month~

Celebrate your favorite villain! Draw some fanart, write a fic, put together an aesthetic, tell us the name of a song that reminds you of one of the Fablehaven/Dragonwatch villains, etc! Any and all content is eligible for reblog so long as it’s SFW.

October’s theme is Underrealm vs Fair Folk!

The Fair Folk and the Underrealm are new additions from the Dragonwatch series, and there is still much to be learned about both. What are your thoughts? Any theories to share? Any other content you’d like to proffer for this month? :)

Reminders: only SFW content will be reblogged. Additionally, from now through the rest of this year given that the final Dragonwatch book will be upon us in less than 2 weeks, please tag all content for spoilers and add “read more” links with spoilers only accessible via that link if anything you post contains spoilers. what’s next years schedule?

I was just thinking about this last night, tbh. An idea has been discussed between the mods; I’ll resurrect that discussion and we’ll explain it shortly.

We will probably do an “every other month” schedule, based on historical participation as well as the particular themes which have been brought forward as an idea.
