Representation

Representation. It’s something everyone wants. I can’t tell you how happy I am when I’m watching something and I find a character that is gay in passing. Meaning that, yup, they are hella gay, but it isn’t the main focus. It’s nice when being gay isn’t their defining character trait. But it isn’t always like that. Sometimes you get representation, but it isn’t always right. The gay character is a little too cliche or stereotypical. The black character is a thug. The trans character is a joke. And asexual characters? Please. They don’t exist. But I wish they did. Even if they were really poorly represented, I still wish they were represented. Sometimes representation isn’t perfect. And I fear that it holds back some people from writing in representation into their novels, or movies, or songs. I think that some people are so afraid of messing up writing a gay character or a character with anxiety or who is trans or has depression that they think it’s safer to just not write it in at all. Maybe they want to, but they don’t know how. There is an author I like. Her name is Sarah J Maas and she wrote Throne of Glass. I read the first book and really enjoyed it. Like any other fangirl would, I went out in search of fan art and a fan base to talk about the book with. I found some people and started talking. She apparently wrote in at least two bisexual characters. A man and a woman. She paired them up together. This got some fans upset, seeing that the only two characters that aren’t straight got paired in a straight couple. It’s not wrong at all but it’s not what they wanted. I think that the fact that they are still bisexual also might be left behind. Maas wrote in some LGBT characters, even though she isn’t LGBT herself. (To my knowledge) I think that it’s important that we take the representation that we can get and thank authors and creators for writing them in instead of constantly criticizing them for doing it wrong. Helpful pointers are often accepted, but so long as they aren’t rude. Educating and debating are different. Pointing out a flaw in a character that might have to do with their sexuality or a group they are representation would be okay so long as it’s not rude.

Because Loke will outlive Lucy, they try to do as much as the can together.It breaks Loke’s heart knowing that one day, he’ll have to say goodbye to the woman he loves.Lucy regrets not giving Loke a chance sooner, because she knows how heartbreaking it can be.

Gratsu: 45

Because Gray is such an incredible dancer, Natsu wants to learn how to dance, in order to be with Gray on the dance floor.Since they got together, they morn the day they lost their fathers (again) together.They both regret fighting as much as they do, but they also really love training together.

Fraxus: 45

Surprisingly, Freed and Laxus are a very lazy couple. They’d rather stay home all day cuddling then out. But when they are out, adventure mood kicks in and they do ridiculous things sometimes.Both Freed and Laxus have insecurities about dating the other. Laxus thinks he’s not smart enough for Freed, and Freed sometimes thinks Laxus might be using him. None of that is true, but they still wonder.Freed regrets not leaving Fairy Tail with Laxus after he got kicked out, but is also glad he stayed.

12, 18, 26 and 31 for Gratsu and Sting x Natsu !

Gratsu: 12-Is there a wedding? What was the proposal like? Any kind of honeymoon?

Yep, it’s actually quite beautiful, Mira and Evergreen planned it. It ran smoothly until one of the grooms lost his pants right before the “I Do”s.They planned on proposing to each other on the same night. When Gray got down on one knee, Natsu laughed and got down on one knee as well. It was adorably awkward, they ended up taking each other’s ring.Gray wanted to go to an amusement park, but Natsu couldn’t go on any rides, so…

Stingsu: 12

Yes. It was a pretty fun wedding, after all, Fairy Tail and Sabertooth became “Sister-Guilds” afterwords.Sting tried proposing but was a mess. He was bawling before he could even pull out the ring. Natsu laughed for a good three minutes straight before chocking out a “yes”.They went to Sting’s beach house (yes he has a beach house. It was Jiemma’s but now it’s his) for some alone time ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

Gratsu: 18-What are their dates like? How long do/did they date? Do they ever feel the need to take a break from each other?

Does training count as dates? Natsu plans the romantic dates, Gray normally just takes Natsu to a park or something.They date for well over 4 years because getting married.Natsu really likes to be touching someone 24/7 (I.E. cuddling, holding hands), sometimes Gray needs a break, and Natsu understands.

Stingsu: 18

Sting tricked Natsu into going out with him at first. “Hey, I need your help with something”. Rogue finally made Sting tell Natsu the truth, and he was cool with it.Sting wanted to get married after they were together for, like, three months, but wanted 2 and a half years.They are both super clingy, and sometimes it’s bugs them, but then they cuddle and everything’s okay.

Gratsu: 26-How do their friends feel about their relationship? Their families?

When they first found out, they thought it was strange, but nothing really changed. They still argued like an old-married couple 24/7.Gray took Natsu to his parents’ and Ul’s graves to introduce Natsu. In return, Natsu took Gray to the cave and forest Igneel raised him in.

Stingsu: 26

Telling Fairy Tail? Big party. Telling Sabertooth? Big party. Lots of parties.

Gratsu: 31-Do they finish each other’s sentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the other is hiding something?

Natsu interrupts a lot.Not really, Gray said “fired up” a couple times though.Natsu’s a terrible liar, so yes. Gray’s an excellent liar, but Natsu can normal tell, somehow.

Stingsu: 31

Natsu interrupts a lot.Sting picked up the “Fired up” line.Both are terrible liars, and have bad memories. So they are pretty honest with each other.

They had a small ceremony in the guildhall, Makarov cried the whole time.Laxus tried to plan the most romantic proposal, but when time came, tripped getting down on one knee. Freed laughed so hard he could barely chock out a “yes”.They didn’t go on a honeymoon. They just took a week off from the guild.

Canajane: 12

They originally planned for a small wedding, but when Gildarts got his invitation, he was so excited he screamed about it for weeks. Because of Cana’s father, half of Magnolia showed up.Cana’s proposal literally was “hey babe, wanna pour my wine for the rest of our lives?”Mira took Cana on a romantic cruise.

Fraxus: 26-How do their friends feel about their relationship? Their families?

Honestly, everyone was just waiting for them to get together, so the only real reaction was winning/losing of bets.Makarov was embarrassing supportive.

Canajane: 26

It was a bit of a shock, but everyone was happy for them.Elfman gave Cana the “Are you man enough for my sister?” talk, Lisanna was super chill, and Gildarts was also embarrassing supportive.

Fraxus: 39-Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed first? When did they realize they were in love?

Freed.Laxus, surprisingly.Freed knew for a long time, but Laxus realized after Tartaros.
