This sawfly larva (Dolerus sp.) sheds it’s exoskeleton while mites that parasitize the larvae move to stay on it.

Thinking of molting and hodoes tiny dragon Virgil shed his skin? Maybe after a massive power expenditure involving sudden growth spurts.

its interesting to think about a dragon molt representing a shift in perspective/personal growth, almost like the outfit changes in canon!

Okay so I check on my spooders and Killer Queen decided to molt on TOP of her water dish and then stuff the molt down inside it. I have never seen any of my other ones do that before! It's been hot so maybe she wanted to be more cool while she went through the molting process?

Still I don't want to touch her yet because a freshly molted tarantula needs time to try and harden up and are extremely delicate. I will need to remove the molt soon so I can give her water though.

I will have new bug stuff up tomorrow including a isopod enclosure video it's just storming right now and im tired still lol.

Look at those adorable little jelly legs! Once those harden up enough, this little booger will be getting a rehouse. Easily sitting at 1″ DLS now, if not just a touch over.
