So would anyone be interested in attending a Yule celebration at my place? I mean it will be outdoors, but there will be fire and food and a ritual to bring in the rest of the year. Plus it’s supposed to be a time for family and friendship. And I thought that since it’s Hendrix’s first Yule it would be fun to invite anyone else who was interested in coming.

My church is having a toy drive for underprivileged kids in the Portland area for Christmas. It’s kind of late notice, but if anyone wants to donate a toy or a gift card for us to go buy a toy, we would really appreciate it. You can just bring it to the church office. By the 20th so that we have time to distribute everything for Christmas. Just let me know if you have any questions.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get my 20-year-old daughter for Christmas? I asked Sofia and she just said “whatever” and that was completely unhelpful. I’m half tempted to just get her school supplies.

Now that things are starting to feel a little bit more normal, I can’t believe what it turned out that I missed the most was the little things like actually lining up to grab a coffee in the morning and just listening to the little pockets of conversation and people talking around me. It’s so surreal after being cooped up like we all were and now having to relearn old routines.

Santa Claus is coming to Sugar & Spice!  He will be there from noon to 5 every Saturday, and every day the week of Christmas. So there will be pictures, and hot chocolate, and I have been working on some peppermint treats that I’m hoping will be a hit for everyone. 

Also if my daughter happens to be there that day and tells you that Santa is her grandpa, that is correct. It’s my Dad in the suit, but she thinks he’s the real Santa and it’s too adorable to correct.

Is everyone hanging in there alright? I know this is a hard time for everyone, but I’m always available to chat or whatever if anyone needs someone to listen. I’ve definitely been more productive with cleaning and trying to move things in than I had expected.

I’ll tell you what, teaching a class of kindergarteners music is only slightly harder remotely than it is in person.

How many times is a person supposed to step in dog poop before they don’t find it funny anymore? ...because I swear I’m at like 7 this week by now, and I can’t stop laughing.  Also, I need new shoes for work, help!!
