So we all know how Rhombulus was super annoying and awful in the latest episode. He could just be an awful person now, but what if it were something else? For the Spell book readers, this may already be at your attention. Rhombulus's snake arms.
First, here is what Rhombulus's looks like in most episodes he appears in, except Cornonation.
But now in cornonation, at least to me, he looks a it different. Notice the weird purple around his eye and head.
This could just be some weird animation coloring thing, or maybe it's just me that sees it. I want to believe that the purple represents something turning him evil. But even if we ignore this weird coloring thing, in the book we learn something about his snake arms, and maybe legs.
When skywynne was getting coronated, the spell book was burnt and she lost Glossaryck. She continued her life and made a new spell book, and eventually Glossaryck returned. He said he was off giving Rhombulus his snake arms.
Glossaryck went into the future to the reign of Cresenta the Eager and used her evil demonic tentacle virus spell of Rhombulus.
This spell is supposed to give the person a snake or tentacle virues hand and slowly turn them evil. It is the same spell Star used in season one that gave Marco the monster arm.
Maybe the weird purple glow has nothing to do with it, but I partially believe the snake arms were working extra slowly and turning Rhombulus more and more evil and obnoxious. Or maybe he is just an awful person now. Nevertheless, this is an interesting point from the book of spells that I wonder if could get mentions in these last few episodes. And will we ever see Monster arm again, was this a lost plot point.
