Meet Charlie Hoy @charlie_hoy10 who I met the other day while out photographing @jamiekavanagh90 at Monster Gym in Cheshunt. We had a good chat and exchanged stories and below in his words in his. Thank you Charlie for sharing and look forward to linking up again. My name is Charlie Hoy 25 and I'm from London. I Started boxing at 11 because of my size, I wanted to be stronger for football and my dad was the local boxing trainer at Cheshunt abc. I had nothing else to do on Tuesday and thursday nights so why not. I lost my first 5 fights not giving a shit about it either, then won 24 straight wins racking up 3 consecutive school boy titles, I ended up with 7 titles and a record of 70 fights and 60 wins. Turned professional in 2012 having 8 wins but ticket sales weren't giving me the opportunity to reach the next stage, so I headed to Miami at the famous 5th street gym last year and signed a deal, now 10 straight wins and 5kos. For me the biggest sacrifice is making weight and not going out partying although I don't drink it makes me tired for next day's session, but the motivation getting that WBC belt overpowers all sacrifices and that is my ultimate goal. #pointshootthink #portrait #nanostories #cheshunt #monstergym #inspiredmoments #motivationnation (at Cheshunt)
