Astounding marine diversity and abundance exists in our backyard. But the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument is at risk! Stand up, speak out, add your name to our petition in support of the most protected waters in the U.S. Atlantic! • • • Visit accol.org/monument to learn more and sign. • • • Recent aerial surveys by our @AndersonCabotCenter spotted 335 common dolphins, 234 Risso’s dolphins, 30 bottlenose dolphins, two Cuvier’s beaked whales, three ocean sunfish, and a rare giant manta ray. 👀 ~250 of the common dolphins were part of a superpod, and Risso’s dolphins [pictured here] were seen in large groups varying between 60 to 80 animals. All together, that's more than 600 animals in four hours!
