Sean Connery’s lesser known role as the human scientist from Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares.
well a 23 year old game giving me some April Fools silliness
As much as I'm deeply meh on Master of Orion:Conquer The Stars (2016), as both a remake and a game in and of itself, I gotta say that the graphics and character design was really good and pretty faithful to the original source material, and did a pretty good job of correcting the small handful of problematic designs from Master of Orion 2. Take a look at the Gnolam, a race of small, physically weak, greedy space goblin capitalists with unusually good luck from moo2:
Yeah it's a little anti-Semitic when you think about it. And in the 2016 remake, they're much more mole-like:
Even if the basic concept of a race of small, greedy money lenders is still a little iffy, I think that the devs did a good job of removing a caricature from a core character design. From what I remember, the voice lines are quite friendly and warm towards the player, eager to cooperate and trade without any undertone of scheming. And it certainly compares favorably to the goblins in Harry Potter. I also have thoughts about the Darlok, who even if I think the Moo1 design was better, the CTS version is still very good and got rid of the whole lizard person thing they had going on in the second game. I'll make a post about it later.
