Liberty and the New Champions are invited by a mysterious lady for some kind of livestream performance on stage. Upon reaching the stage, they get a rude shock when they see the other Champions (the teen group from late 2010s) who were also invited for a different reason. The New Champions thought that there is supposed to be a performance while the Other Champions thought that there is supposed to be a charity event. It turns out that their invitation was actually a trap set up by the new villains Magnetrix and Monte, who had also recruited Psycho-Man to twist their emotions and set them to fight among themselves. To twist the knife even further, Magnetrix brings up the painful topic of Kamala's Law and the Outlawed incident to provoke the original Champions.
Magnetrix (who is dressed up as a show presenter here) claims that in order to win a prize, they must fight each other so that one team can have the rightful claim to the title of Champions if they win the fight. While both teams are mind-controlled by Psycho-Man, only Viv Vision suspects that something is wrong with the competition but she gets her circuits scrambled. As the battle ensues, Magnetrix is watching in amusement until she and Monte get hit by the giant fist from Kamala Khan. Actually, Kamala was fighting Liberty until they hit Magnetrix by accident. Then, Magnetrix blasts at Kamala and Liberty before she and Monte leave the scene. However, the blasts from Magnetrix caused Kamala and Liberty to wake up from mind-control as well as the latter (Liberty) remembers her past time as a Hydra child soldier (before she met Jessica Drew and got deprogrammed). Kamala Khan and Liberty figured out that Psycho-Man has been mind-controlling them even though they did not know that Magnetrix and Monte are the real cause for this mess. Thus, Kamala and Liberty went after Psycho-Man and defeated him by taking the Emotion Control Box away from him. Since Psycho-Man is defeated, the two groups of Champions wake up from the brainwashing and they start to mingle among themselves.
