I’ve always loved Selene and the sheer campy vibe she brings. I remember reading that Claremont originally based on her on Miriam Blaylock from The Hunger and I was delighted. Her portrayal in the comics has been uneven, sometimes verging on the unfair, so I wanted to give my spin on an immortal mutant vampire sorceress with a penchant for cape theatrics and villainous cackling. Here I wanted to lean more towards her moon goddess vibes. There’s a bigger picture she’s a part of which I’ll share in a bit.
