Preamble, because you don't know me.

Yeah. So. 20 years ago I got a degree in creative writing and basically did nothing with it. Fun fact - the guy who wrote John Winchester's journal was my capstone advisor. Which is... so wild considering I had zero interest in Supernatural until late 2025. Man, if only I'd known then what I know now. Actually, it's probably for the best.

It's been a long time since I've done any creative-fiction writing - just years and years of academic research. Not that academia isn't both a hoot AND a holler, but creative writing is a muscle...

I also can't stop thinking about destiel - so, here's a messy little experiment.

I have several more in drafts - but I figured I'd ease into it because it's Pride and I wanted The Boys To Kiss.

“Please let me help him,” Peter manages to get out, although it’s almost impossible to hear his own words over the pounding of his heart. His voice cracks. “Please. Please. He’s hurt. He’s my friend. He’s… he’s a good person. His name is John. John Carter. Please, man. I helped your friend. Please let me help mine.”

Write a sequel to your favorite past sicktember prompt fic!

Work with a friend to 'remix' one of their past sicktember prompt fics. (A remix is a fanwork that is a re-envisioned version of an earlier fanwork - fanlore.org)

I just need to whine about something that is stupid & I shouldn't even be upset because it's stupid but I just need to be a little baby about it for a few seconds and then I'll get over it.

There's an artist I really really like and we follow each other and they had an idea & drew it out and I saw it and it's the same idea I had but I have been writing it out with a friend and now I feel like shit bc we basically had the exact idea and I know it's stupid to be upset because there's only so many ideas in the world especially when you are in fandom and I don't wanna be upset but i am and i'm not upset at them or anything just more in the fact that fandom makes me feel like i'm not allowed to draw the same things as other people because it's not original and i've never had this problem until recently and it fucking sucks.

I'll still end up doing it, but it wont feel the same now and it's fucking stupid that i feel this way about it because more cake is always good but fandom isn't the same anymore so the possibility of being called a thief weighs heavy on me now especially with how I've had it happen to me before in the SW fandom with something else.

I shouldn't let it get to me but it does and now i just feel shitty. But it's literally all ME and nothing about the other artist at all i wanna say that bc we were literally just two people who had the same idea and it's completely on me to control how i feel about it and how i act so I'm getting this little vent out now bc i'm an adult who can control myself and my own thought process.
