There was a man watching her.
She didn't mind if she was being honest. Her life was rather boring. Her mother was over protective, and really the only thing that was preventing her from being attached to her side at this very moment was the fact that she was literally the goddess of the harvest and needed to make sure that things were growing correctly.
So she spent most of her time napping or playing in the fields, convincing the flowers to grow. She'd found a new place to play recently, and there was a large cave nearby. Deep down, she kind of hoped it held a bear. She could only imagine the look on her mother's face when she showed her her new friend.
There was no bear, as it turned out. But there was a man. His deep black robes contrasted against his pale skin and white hair and the pointed iron crown resting on his pink tipped hair gave a macabre look. He didn't speak to her, choosing to remain in the shadows of the cave.
He always watched her with a strange form of longing, and she wished he would just talk to her instead of looking at her in shock before disappearing anytime she acknowledged his existence.
But today she had a plan. Ever since she'd found this place, she'd been here like clockwork, and he'd done the same. Today though, she was going to hide! In her plan, he would come check on her, and she would surprise him enough that he wouldn't immediately run away. She'd finally be able to talk to him!
She hummed to herself as she perched in her tree, hidden away among the foliage. She paused as she saw him finally emerge from the cave, confusion filling his face for a moment when she wasn't there. He paused at the entrance, before a cloak of darkness suddenly appeared over his skin and he finally emerged.
Her plan was going even better than she thought and he made his way into her field, looking around almost nervously. Then, he walked toward the tree she was in and she had to stop herself from cheering.
And then, she lost her grip. She hadn't meant to. Her plan was to gracefully hop out of the tree, maybe give a suave introduction, the works.
Not fall on top of his head.
The man was holding her in his arms, shock on his face and she awkwardly smiled at him.
"Um. Hi? I'm MC." He stared at her in shock and seemingly the word just fell from his lips.
"Saeran."
