I’ve been on a Teen Wolf phase again recently, finally getting myself (almost) up to date with season 5A and 5B, and then, as I do, moving on to the fanfic.

And there lies my problem.

There are a lot of good fanfics around for Teen Wolf, or I wouldn’t have spent several days reading them. But the problem lies in the fact that I DO NOT SHIP STEREK. Like, at all. I can tolerate it for a particularly interesting fic premise, but I am FED UP of wading through 50 billion AU Stiles/Derek fics to find the kind of fics I actually want to read. Over half of the Teen Wolf fics on ao3 have Sterek tagged as a pairing, and I just want to read about anything else. And to be honest, Derek in general is an uninteresting character for me.

Give me Scott and Stiles having either a bromance or a romance, there for each other, whatever happens in life.

Give me Isaac returning from Paris and slotting into Scott’s pack like he never left, and the McCalls making him feel loved. Scott wanting him by his side.

Give me Lydia, grieving over the loss of Allison, and how she never got to confess the true depth of her feelings for her.

Give me Danny, finding out or somehow having known all along, making Ethan a better person, or being there for Isaac (and if you’re the author of the half-finished Mahealahey fic Ohana, I’d like to let you know that your fic is adorable and if you ever decide to write more of it I will love you forever :3 ).

Give me Liam and Mason and Brett, in love or otherwise, but navigating the waters of werewolves and high school with that fresh new outlook.

Give me Corey, the soft spoken, invisible chimera, and his slow falling in love with Mason.

Give me Melissa and her awesome capacity to cope with anything life throws at her.

Give me Scott, Scott who while some shippers overlook is the strongest character on the show, the calm, dopey, sometimes clueless, but underneath a lake, a mountain, an ocean of power, a protector, that makes you rue the day you decided to come for the True Alpha’s pack, and yet still moral, through all of it.

Give me Jackson in London navigating the rules of being a werewolf alone in a big city.

Give me Liam’s parents or Scott’s dad or the teachers or the class at school finding out about werewolves, and the changes that brings to people’s lives.

Give me the characters all grown up, managing college without their pack around, and coping through long distance Skype calls while trying to figure out WHY the supernatural seems to have followed them here, too.

Give me Kira, growing into her power as a kitsune, Malia, finding her way through a world that’s still strange to her, Lydia and Meredith and stories about banshees.

But don’t give me Derek, because he means nothing to me.

So Stiles had sex with a girl who has been a coyote for like a decade. Or uhhh maybe sex. I think it was supposed to be sex. Either way. They're at an insane asylum. That has to be disgusting.

Also way to not break taboos at all about insane asylums Teen Wolf. Like we need more of the same in this day and age.
