I grew up in a devout Mormon or as their official name is - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church. Let me just clear some misconceptions.
Yes, they do believe in God. They call him Heavenly Father because he is everyone's Heavenly Father - including Jesus Christ, the chosen Son of God.
No, they do not think that Jesus and God are the same person, they do think that Jesus is a celestial being. No that does not mean they worship two Gods.
They also believe in the Holy Spirit. They believe in the full trinity. Just not the same way a lot of traditional Christian denominations do.
Because we are all children of our Heavenly Father, we are all brothers and sisters, which is why they call each other Brother and Sister followed by the persons last name.
Yes, there have been times in the church that were sketchy. But I don't know why people get so focused on the Mormons when the Catholics literally helped Nazis out of Germany or have proven to be tied to a lot of scandals. No one seems to give a fuck about that.
If y'all want me to go deeper into it all, I will but the whole idea of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit being one being wasn't even doctrine until Constantine held the Nicean council which exiled and excommunicated anyone who thought otherwise.
So, maybe think outside the box?
Why are you Mormon despite the fact that youre nonbinary, bi-ace, a marxist, a feminist, and anti-racist, and your church has a history of racism, sexism, and homophobia?

Cheap bastards can’t even support their own youth groups. Tonight 2 young ladies came to my door begging for donations to support their youth group. Mormonism takes in thousands from Mormon families and they can’t send a couple hundred back to the wards for their youth programs, what a sad organization.
