🦄 do you believe in treats hell no! they only cost money, make dogs fat and if you had the stupid idea to “train” your dog with treats and someday you happen to not have any with you, say goodbye to your dog. they’re not dumb and if you don’t pay them, they’ll flip you the bird and run off. they’d prob also bite you

I may be weird and random but Are your saltwater mollies bigger than mollies kept in freshwater? Someone said mollies get much bigger in saltwater and you are the first person I found who keeps them in sw.. I don't know if this is a myth or real. :o

I’ve seen people say they get bigger in salt, too. I think they said about six inches. I’ve only had mine for a few months, but I think they have gotten bigger? I doubt they were fully mature when I got them, so I’d expect more growth, but I’d say they’re about four inches at the moment. I’ve definitely noticed other changes, like color/patterns though. And they’ve gotten stronger because of the current.

I’m away from the house right now, but when I get back I’ll measure them and try to get some pictures before and after putting them in salt! I’ll tag you if you’d like.

we've met a (moderately coated) sheltie and her owners were chatting with someone and as we appeared she asked them if mine was shaved. do people ever assume that Sparta is shaved

no they just assume she’s a puppy. our interactions tend to go like:

“How cute! How many months is she?”“She’s five. Years.”“Oh... So she’s not... getting any bigger?”“No, that’s it. She’s supposed to have more coat, too. She doesn’t. This is all she is. There’s no hope. She’s also very rude.”

which tends to stave off most follow-up questions.

68) Does your dog have any weird habits?

She picks up Odd Behaviour and repeats them for periods of time (ref. the Basket Case) and that’s mainly it, I think? Except she’s gotten into pretending to be cold after eating frozen food (upon which she’ll be extensively cuddled, because I, like an idiot, Believed Her until I realized she also did it after eating room-temp kibble.) And she greets her best dog friends by body slamming, scruffing and tackling them. Speaking of friends, she’s Play motivated but not Toy motivated, and so for a while she’d spend her free time chucking toys at other dogs hoping they’d catch on. 

19) A trick you’d love to teach your dog?

I want her to eventually jump into my arms or onto my back. We’re kinda halfway there, but it needs to be practised in the right conditions.

18) Your favorite trick your dog knows?

She’s slowly catching on to holding things in her mouth, which is exciting! We’re still only at the point where she’ll take something and run off with it though. I get it back, sometimes.
