trillian's characterization in mostly harmless is not a problem for me because i love it when women don't do the right thing. however when someone else tells me they don't like trillian solely because of how she acts in mostly harmless i am forced to put on my shiny red trillian astra fan boxing gloves and fight for her honor because she's fictional and can't do it for herself. because, first of all, at every point in the series prior to mostly harmless trillian was THE empathetic moral compass of the gang. the only totally moral good character in the main cast. her mostly harmless characterization completely contradicts her previous characterization and should be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to her character as a whole. secondly, even if that was how she was consistently characterized, literally everyone else in h2g2 has acted selfishly to the detriment of the others at some point in the series so it doesn't even matter

#not saying you cant dislike her but like at least hold her to the same moral standards as everyone else right?#feels unfair to judge her considerably more harshly based on parts of her character that #a) only show up in the one book and b) arent much worse than any other main cast member's worst moments.#i dont know #h2g2 #mostly harmless #trillian astra #realizing calling trillian the only morally good character in the main cast is fenchurch erasure #i'm so sorry ms fenchurch
