The Stages of Grief
Ayo why Augustus kindaaa....
it was very nice out and yoyo looked suitably deranged
miss two weeks ago when i was neck deep in a depressive episode because now all i feel is Rage and a constant want to do drugs and break up with my girlfriend.
For real though something about Adam saying Yang’s name gave me An Emotion that I can’t quite describe.
I'm really happy you decided to draw for inktober. Your art is so cute. Also I've been enjoying all the questions from the other anon. I always feel like Lorna, Tommy, and Pietro don't get the same amount of attention as Magento, Bill, and Wanda. Your thoughts?
Sorry this took me so long to respond; works been crazy and I wanted to be able to give this the answer it deserves, which is ABSOLUTELY YES THEY DO.
And not only do they get overshadowed and get more attention than those three, but Lorna, Pietro and Tommy are often used as props for their character development.
Lorna is probably the best example of it, as she's often used as a prop for not one, but two men: Magneto and Havok. A lot of her character development is how she's related to one and in an on-again/off-again relationship with the other. Most people don't seem to care about her character aside from that, which is unfortunate, because she could be so much more. She's a firey, passionate, and strong-willed woman, with a refined (if not tragic) background. When put into leadership roles, she's proven herself very capable, intelligent, compassionate (even if she has an odd way of showing it), and level-headed. And her "unstable" mental health (which idk what writers would classify as, tbh I don't know what it's supposed to be based on) all kind of culminate into a very interesting, very sympathetic character, and I wish she would get the screen time and character arc she deserves.
Pietro has been used as a prop for Wanda for so long that I can't remember the last Avengers story they were in together where he got any decent characterization of his own. Which is an absolute shame because he's been shown to be so loving and supportive of his family in his own way and you can show that without making him a crutch for another character's sake. And I get that he has faults (most 616 Quicksilver fans will be the first to acknowledge that), but that doesn't make him a bad person--certainly not the way he's been shown in relation to Wanda or the rest of the Avengers.
Tommy is an interesting character in how own right, but 90% of the time he's on panel, he's being used to further develop Billy's character. I mean, this kid is a product of a broken home, who was in and out of juvie, who blew up his school on accident and ended up in a government facility being made into a living weapon. That alone is enough for writers to make volumes off of, but no one seems to care enough to flesh that out. Add that to the fact that he seems to be the most-forgotten-about Young Avenger, with even his own teammates (and his own soul twin) leaving him stuck in another dimension for who knows how long because they stopped looking after just three months... It's a mess and it's laughable how much his character has been effed-over just so other characters can look good. Or it would be laughable if it didn't make me so angry. Like Pietro, I almost wonder if being in an X title wouldn't be better for him. We've seen that he apparently thinks that Magneto is right, and I think it would be interesting to see how he would fit into the mutant community, since it's evident he doesn't fit in with the human or human-passing one.
