Been a while since I’ve drawn Pearl PearlescentMoon. Felt like slightly changing up my design for her, too.

Pearl, being a moth hybrid, had a caterpillar phase (from birth ~ 10 y.o.) and a cocoon phase (10 ~ 20 y.o) before finally metamorphosing into a moth and growing wings.

When she was a caterpillar, she frequently ate leaves off the ground whenever she was hungry. But her elder siblings (Lizzie and Grian) realised that might be unhygienic and hurt her stomach, so they made sure to stock up on fresh leafy vegetables at home so she could use those as snacks. That also meant that everyone kept giving her their salad at mealtimes because they didn't want to eat it, which Jimmy (and only Jimmy, because Lizzie and Grian were the ones in charge) has gotten in trouble for before because he kept not eating his own vegetables.

Her cocoon phase was marked with constant fatigue, and a need to curl up in some blankets and just sleep. During that time, she would frequently form cuddle piles with her siblings and even some of her closer friends such as Gem and Sausage, even if it was in the middle of the day.

In Evo, after the End fight, Martyn, Netty and BigB got wrapped into the cuddle pile club because Jimmy was staying with Martyn, and the latter two came over to visit frequently. All 3 were worried about the 2 remaining siblings, so cuddle piles were a good way to ensure they were safe and not doing something reckless out of grief.

After finally becoming a moth, she had to learn how to fly. However, almost no one around her actually knew how to fly. Jimmy only began learning at the same time as her because he doesn't always have wings. It took joining Hermitcraft, reuniting with Grian, and meeting many more people who had some basic familiarity with either wings or mechanical flight to actually begin proper lessons - which everyone was more than happy to give.

I bet she felt so good finally getting her wings and feeling energized, then finally getting to use her wings and feel the air beneath her wings !!! So fun!

Hermit Desins Part 1

Headcanons: In my headcanon they're all like half siblings (though idk how to explain whatever is between Jimmy and Joel XD). Grian has no eyes (Watchers yoinked them so he can see thanks to them and is forced to rely on them). Pearl is a moth hybrid, Joel is a butterfly (??), Grian is a parrot, Jimmy is a canary, and Martyn is some sort of birb.

First time drawing these folks so might change it later :D

And i drew their 'default' looks since i haven't watched season 11 yet
