when Owen’s dad is holding her in the shower and light is flickering on him in the same way the tv would every time we saw him, and he looks like a bit like Mr. Melancholy???

ISTTVG style conformitygate…… if I could write ff I’d totally do it..

Basically this idea is that conformitygate goes like the plot of ISTTVG. If you watched that movie (it’s goated) I think you’d get why they could go together so well.

Basically, Mike and Will are the only two real people in Camazots/“hawkins”. Both of them have their memories altered somewhat from reality, enough to not ask questions (for a while). The events of st1-5 are vague, easily mistaken as an elaborate DND game.

In dimension X, they’re being held in the mind flayer with those gross things suffocating them slowly. In Camazots, as time goes on Mike starts having more and more trouble breathing, constantly feeling like there’s a weight on his chest. He goes to the dr and gets told he just has asthma. Reasonable excuse. But the medicine doesn’t really help, just bates the worst of it.

Will realizes first, having flashes of memories that don’t quite make sense with the timeline Henry made. He connects the dots, and realizes everything is fake. When he realizes this, he tries to tell Mike but is going between panicked over what he knows is true vs how crazy it’ll look if he’s wrong. Mike doesn’t believe him, not at first.

Will runs away. Mike doesn’t see him for a long time. Will’s trying to figure out how to get out but he just can’t find it out on his own. Mike’s sense of impending doom gets worse every day.

I don’t know how it would end, whether with Mike accepting reality and joining Will or with Mike too afraid to acknowledge something that scary. Or if it ends vague, like the movie itself.

Snow days are fun, you get to think about your favorite characters and your favorite movie :D
