You Didn't Know Him (Incredibles Fan Fiction)
It would be inspired by this deleted scene from the Incredibles 2.
After the speech that Bob Parr aka Mr. Incredible gave for the memorial, Betty aka the out of retirement Power Palate went up to him and his wife, Helen aka Elastigirl. She was clad in black with a solemn look on her face as she saw not only the names of her fallen former comrades with her husband, Gamma Jack, among them.
Betty (solemnly): Bob, I want to thank you for what you said. I know it wasn't directly dedicated to Jack, but I do appreciate you acknowledging him alongside everyone else who-... she then cut herself off as she was still holding back tears
[Bob and Helen looked at her with sympathy and consoled her.]
Bob Parr: I know it's hard. It still pains me a bit as well. And even worse I could have been the next victim if it wasn't for Gazerbeam's sacrifice I have to thank him for me still being alive after I was lured by Syndrome.
Helen nodded her head in agreement to dwell on the fact that she could have been like the other relatives of Syndrome's victims who lost their loved ones to such a mad man. Or even worse would have been his next target if they had known her location.
Helen Parr (laughed to relieve some levity): It must have been quite the accomplishment to nab "Handsome Jack" and become "Mrs. Gamma Jack".
Betty(stopped weeping and giggled): Yep, I remember how he among so many others used to chased after you and every time you shot him down hard. It took me a while to warm up to him myself because of his huge ego but eventually he managed to win me over. sighs And I could never have found a more devoted husband and father of my children. She then looked down at her wedding ring
Just then Betty, Helen, and Bob heard chattering among some memorial guests.
Memorial Guest #1: I know he was apart of the fallen but in my opinion I am kind of glad he's dead.
All three stiffened for a moment wondering which hero they were talking about and put off by the callous disregard.
Memorial Guest #2: I agree he had a track record of being a bloodthirsty megalomanic who showed no mercy to villains, no care for collateral damage, and had super supremacist views. It's a miracle the government kept him on a leash and never thought to go rogue even when heroes were forced to go undercover.
Memorial Guest #3: Not to mention his reputation as a ravenous playboy. Let's just pray he didn't reproduce and create more monsters like himself.
That last line caused Betty to shake with anger as Helen and Bob continued to share her disgust as she began marching towards the memorial guests.
Memorial Guest #1: It's probably a blessing that Syndrome fellow did the world a favor by-(cut off by a punch in the face from Betty).
Betty (screamed with tears rolling down her cheek): You didn't know him!!!
The memoralist was punched so hard she fell to the ground and rubbed her face staring at at an enraged Betty. As some other memorialists began to take noticed at the scene before them.
Memorial Guest #1: Ow! What was that for?
Betty then grabbed her by the shirt and gave her a threatening glance that sent chills.
Betty: Before you start grave dancing think about the loved ones who he leaves behind including a wife and three daughters who miss him every day. You might see him as a monster who deserved death, but to them he was the best father and husband a person could ask for.
Memorial Guest #1 (still skeptical): Hmm, I hardly could see that man being capable of truly being tied to one woman and have a family with her. I can't imagine he couldn't even keep his eyes from wandering when he had the chance which is probably the reason he got killed in the first place.
Betty (shouted): I am his wife you judgemental heifer!
That last line finally got the memorialist to close up.
Betty (warned): And if you and anyone continue to smack talk him in my presence then just be careful what I am eating the next time I am in your presence.
She then turned around to meet with Helen and Bob again.
Betty (sighed): I'm sorry about that I didn't want to make a scene.
Bob: No, that was totally justified.
Helen: Ditto. If that was me in your place I could probably do so much worse if they were badmouthing Bob.
Bob smiled down happily.
Betty (nodded): Thanks for your support and let's keep in touch.
She then headed out the exit as a bit of levity got off her shoulders.
