Has anyone else really noticed how Rick likes to give nicknames/petnames to those he holds dear and to those that are special to him? Like, think about it.

Morty is M-Bomb.

Summer is Sum-Sum.

Beth is Sweetie and Baby.

Birdperson is Pers.

Unity is Une and Baby.

We only thought Gearhead was Revolio Clockberg Jr's real name because Rick called him that so much. Keep in mind that when he betrayed him, Rick told him “You're supposed to be my friend!” insinuating Rick genuinely held Gearhead dear to him, as a friend. Which is probably why he called him Gearhead instead of his real name. Because it was meant to be a nickname, and never an insult.

I just came to the realization a few days ago but I thought I'd share it. Also, I headcanon that Rick definitely called his wife by a petname/nickname too. Since Diane Sanchez is the only thing that's even remotely close to Rick's backstory and his wife, whether she's real or not, I headcanon that Rick called her “Dove” as a nickname while they were married.

Anyways, let Rick make more friends so he can give them nicknames, please and thank you!!
