Mrs. Norris is Mr. Filtch’s wife.

Mrs. Norris is a pure blood witch and Mr. Filtch is a squib.

Her family never approved of the match, so they ran away together.

When Mr. Filtch got the job at Hogwarts they knew word would travel to Mrs. Norris’s family and they would know where they were.

She then became an animagus so she could always be by his side.

Harry Potter fan Theory!

So since we have seen what a Maledictus is in the Harry Potter universe. I’ve been thinking about another animal in the series that seems pretty interesting. Mrs. Norris. I think that Mrs. Norris is a Maledictus, not only a Maledictus, but also Filch’s wife. Yes HIS WIFE. It makes sense if you think about it. Mrs. Norris seems to be suspicious. Why would a normal cat (she’s listed as only a cat, nothing “magical”) be as nosy as her, and report to Filch when students are up to no good? How is it that Filch can understand her? Because that was his wife. His wife before she turned into a cat. Filch wanted to stay in the Wizarding World and take care of his wife. It explains why they are so close. Also in the second book/movie,chamber of secrets, when Mrs. Norris get’s petrified, Filch flips out, threatening to even hurt Harry. He’s scared his WIFE has left him. What do you think?

My Filch and Mrs. Norris for this week’s Harry Potter Character Design Challenge :)  I know you're supposed to not like Filch and he's meant to be a more "bad" character, but I always felt a lot of empathy for him.  Especially in the second book when he thinks Mrs Norris is dead and he is so devastated to have lost his only friend.  I literally cry every time I read that part.  So I wanted to capture a moment with him being happy petting his best friend :)  <3

So my mom and i are having a Harry Potter marathon and we had a thought about how close Fitch and Mrs.Norris are Do you suppose that Filch's cat is actually his wife? Because how is it that he always knows what's going on in Hogwarts. Maybe she's an animagus. And he's the only one who knows. Or perhaps she's been cursed to be a cat.... What do you guys think?

We just got a kitten, and the night before my brother had said if it was a girl he wanted to name it Mrs. Norris. And now that we have it, and it's a male, my mom said we should name him Chuck, the son of Mrs. Norris. And after almost five minutes, my brother finally got it. And all he said was "oh." before he threw his head back and burst out laughing.
